SAFETY WARNINGS
02
Riding an electric motorbike can be a hazardous activity. Certain conditions may cause the equipment to
fail without fault of the manufacturer. Like other electric vehicles, the EVERCROSS EV12M can and is
intended to move, and it is therefore possible to lose control, fall off and/or get into dangerous situations
that no amount of care, instruction or expertise can eliminate. If such things occur you can be seriously
injured or die, even when using safety equipment and other precautions. RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK
AND USE COMMON SENSE.
This manual contains many warnings and cautions concerning the consequences of failing to maintain,
inspect or properly use your electric motorbike. Because any incident can result in serious injury or even
death, we do not repeat the warning of possible serious injury or death each time such a possibility is
mentioned.
This manual contains important safety information. It is your responsibility to review this information and
make sure that all riders understand all warnings, cautions, instructions and safety topics and assure that
young riders are able to safely and responsibly use this product. EVERCROSS recommends that you
periodically review and reinforce the information in this manual with younger riders, and that you inspect
and maintain your children’s vehicle to insure their safety.
The recommended rider age (3-12 years for the EV12M) is only an estimate, and can be affected by the
rider’s size, weight or skills (Do not exceed the weight limit of 143 lbs). Any rider unable to fit comfortably
on the EV12M should not attempt to ride it.

Overview

This document describes the EVERCROSS EV12M electric motorbike, an electric vehicle designed for recreational use, primarily for children. The manual emphasizes safety, proper usage, and maintenance to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Function Description

The EVERCROSS EV12M is an electric motorbike intended for riding on flat, level ground free of loose debris. It is designed to provide a fun and engaging riding experience for young riders within a controlled environment. The motorbike is powered by an electric motor and battery, offering various speed modes to suit different skill levels. It features a hand grip for speed control and a brake lever for stopping. The design incorporates elements for performance and durability, though it is not impervious to damage from aggressive riding.

Usage Features

The EV12M is designed for riders aged 3-12 years, with a maximum weight limit of 143 lbs (65 kg). A parent's decision to allow a child to ride should be based on the child's maturity, skill, and ability to follow rules.

  • Safety First: Riding the EV12M can be hazardous, and users are warned that serious injury or death can occur even with safety equipment. Riders must understand and accept these risks.

  • Controlled Environments: The electric motorbike is meant for use only in controlled environments, free of potential traffic hazards. It should not be ridden on public streets or sidewalks, or in areas with pedestrian or vehicle traffic.

  • Riding Surface: Ideal riding surfaces are flat, level ground without loose debris like rocks or gravel. Wet, slick, bumpy, uneven, or rough surfaces can impair traction and lead to accidents. The motorbike should not be driven in mud, ice, puddles, or water, as this can damage electrical and drive components and create unsafe conditions.

  • Speed Control: The speed control on the hand grip should only be activated when the rider is on the motorbike and in a safe, outdoor environment suitable for riding.

  • Defensive Riding: Riders are instructed to ride defensively, watching out for potential obstacles and avoiding pedestrians, skaters, skateboards, scooters, bikes, children, or animals. Respect for others' rights and property is also emphasized.

  • No Passengers: The EV12M is designed for a single rider; carrying passengers or allowing more than one person to ride at a time is prohibited.

  • No Distractions: Riders must maintain a hold on the handlebars at all times and should never use headphones or a cell phone while riding.

  • Indoor Use: Indoor use is discouraged to prevent damage to surfaces like carpet or flooring.

  • Aggressive Riding: Jumping or other aggressive riding can over-stress and damage the product, and riders assume all risks associated with such activities.

  • Pre-Ride Checklist: Before each ride, users should perform a pre-ride check:

    • Loose Parts: Check for unusual rattles or sounds from loose or broken components. If unsure, an experienced mechanic should inspect the device.
    • Brake Function: Ensure the brake provides positive braking action when the lever is squeezed.
    • Frame, Fork, and Handlebars: Inspect for cracks or broken connections. Regular inspection is advised, especially after aggressive use.
    • Tire Inflation: Periodically inspect tires for wear, replace as needed, and regularly check and re-inflate tire pressure.
    • Safety Gear: Always wear proper protective equipment.
  • Proper Riding Attire: Always wear an approved safety helmet (with chin strap securely buckled), elbow pads, and kneepads. A helmet may be legally required. A long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and gloves are recommended. Athletic shoes (lace-up with rubber soles) should always be worn; never ride barefoot or in sandals. Shoelaces must be tied and kept away from wheels, motor, and the drive system.

  • Initial Setup: The product should be assembled by an adult. For the first use, the tires must be inflated to the correct PSI, and the battery charged for at least 12 hours. Failure to follow these instructions may damage the vehicle and void the warranty.

  • Riding Procedure:

    1. Activate the power button and observe the charge on the right handlebar.
    2. Hold both handles.
    3. Twist the throttle to accelerate and place feet on the pedals.
    4. To slow down or stop, release the accelerator and gradually squeeze the brake.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the EV12M.

  • Battery Charging:

    • The charger should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure, and other parts. If damaged, the bike must not be charged until the charger is repaired or replaced.
    • Initial charge time is 12 hours; subsequent recharges take up to 8 hours.
    • The battery is fully charged when the LED light on the charger changes from red (charging) to green. Charging should stop immediately once fully charged.
    • Do not charge if there is excessive odor, heat, leakage, or physical damage.
    • Do not connect the charger if the charging port is wet.
    • Maintain a clean and dry charging environment.
    • Avoid charging in extremely hot or cold environments.
    • Always disconnect from the charger before wiping down or cleaning the motorbike with liquid.
    • Charging should be supervised by an adult.
    • Only use the recommended charger provided by EVERCROSS.
  • Chain and Sprocket:

    • The chain will naturally have "loose" and "tight" spots due to manufacturing tolerances.
    • The chain should be adjusted to ideal tension at its tightest spot.
    • Proper chain alignment must be maintained, and the wheel should not be skewed.
    • If the chain is noisy or rough, check lubrication, tension, and alignment of the sprockets in that order.
  • Battery Care and Disposal:

    • Do not store the battery in temperatures above 75°F (24°C) or below -10°F (-23°C).
    • Fully charge the battery after every use to prolong its lifespan.
    • The product uses sealed batteries that must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in a fire, as they may explode or leak.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in regular household trash; incineration, landfilling, or mixing with household trash is prohibited by law in most areas.
  • Cleaning and Storage:

    • Do not clean the E-bike with alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive/volatile chemical solvents, as this can cause damage.
    • Do not wash the board with a high-pressure water spray.
    • During cleaning, ensure the E-bike is turned off, the charging cable is unplugged, and the rubber flap is closed to prevent water leakage and electric shock.
    • When not in use, store the E-bike indoors in a dry and cool place.
    • Avoid prolonged outdoor storage, as excessive sunlight, overheating, or overcooling can accelerate battery pack lifespan degradation.
  • Replacement Parts: Frequently requested replacement parts (wheels, tires, tubes, batteries, and chargers) are available for purchase online.

  • Repair Centers: For authorized EVERCROSS repair, users can check online at https://www.evercross.eu/ or contact customer service at support@evercross.eu.

  • Warranty: EVERCROSS warrants the product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty does not cover damage from failure to follow instructions. If a hardware defect is found within the warranty period, EVERCROSS will repair or replace the product. Shipping and handling charges may apply. To obtain warranty service, an RMA must be requested, and the product delivered in its original packaging. Proof of purchase is required.
