BEFORE LEAVING THE SHORE

Ensure steering is properly aligned. - see page 10
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your kayak is designed to require minimal maintenance; basic and ecient care will ensure a lifeme of enjoyment.
Whenever washing your kayak:
Use mild soap and water.
Rinse kayak thoroughly with fresh water, notably aer paddling in salt, brackish or polluted water.
Rinse the rotang parts of the CoreDrive propeller with fresh water to keep clean and operang smoothly.
Occasional operaonal inspecons will keep your kayak in top condion. Check hatch covers, cables, buckles, straps and other moving parts for
wear, and replace them when necessary. Perform an annual review of the deck and hull. NOTE: Light nicks, scratches and scrapes are part of the
paddling experiences, but deep scratches should be repaired.
Polyethylene is a considerably exible material with some memory. This means it has a tendency to return to its originally molded shape if
distorted. If this occurs, follow these steps:
1. Relieve the pressure that caused the dent/distoron by supporng the kayak dierently or removing the gear.
2. Place the kayak up in the warm sun. Usually the south side of a building is the warmest spot. As the kayak warms up, usually (but
not always) the kayak will return to its original molded shape. This may take a few hours or a couple of weeks dependent upon out-
side temperatures and the degree of distoron.
