Working With Your Unit for the First Time
By starting to use your unit, you implicitly agree to the EXFO and third-party
EULAs related to your unit and instruments.
You will need a computer (laptop) and a network cable to connect to your
OTAU-9150 unit.
By default, the management of your unit is done locally by connecting a
laptop to your unit. However, if you prefer to be able to manage your unit
remotely (via LAN or WAN) after the first connection, you can enable a
feature allowing you to do so. For more information on how to connect
remotely to your unit, see Accessing Your Unit Remotely on page 51.
The following procedure takes into account that you have already mounted
your unit in a rack, grounded it, inserted an SFP transceiver module if
applicable, etc. For more information, see the corresponding sections
presented earlier in this chapter.
