Construction
The grinding spindle is mounted axially adjustable in a clamp-
ing block. It is driven v ia e ndless belt by a 3-phase motor. Th e
motor is guarded by a filter against dust and dirt and is adjust-
able at the clamping block by means of a rocker. The block is
slotted for mounting on the slide of a machine tool. Th e re duced
spindle overhang guarantees precise surface finish.
3. External or internal grinding
For th ese mod es of grinding use different pu ll eys and driving
belts in order to attain the highest possibl e peripheral speed
of the grinding wheel. Moreover , external grinding requires a
wheel guard. The extension spindles on pages 2 and 3 are used
for internal grinding. When replacing grinding wheel flange (63)
or extension spindles, MT-so cke t as well as tapered spindle
should be slightly lubric ated . When replacing pulley or grinding
wheel tak e care that spindle is not forc ed , in or der to avoid
dam age to ball bearings or axia l pla y , which imp a ir the surface
finish.

Connection
Check connection of socket and earthing conductor (voltage
tester) before connecting the tool. Run tool unload ed for a short
time in order to ch eck th e pr esc ribed direction of rot at ion and
to avo id loo se ning of the grinding wheel while work ing. Further ,
check
the running of the driving be lt .
The tension of the belt must not be too high in order to avoid
unnecessary stress on or damage to the spindle bearings. For
external grinding mind correct adjustment of the wheel guard.
5. Tending the driving belt
Unscrew he xa gon sc r ew (39) and displac e rocker wi th motor to
adjust the requir ed tension of the belt. M aybe, the guard (45)
should be adjust e d; for this purpose unscr ew h exago n nuts
(48, 53).

7. Dressing the grinding wheel
Usually the grinder remains fixed on the slide and the grindin g
wheel is moved uniforml y to and fro in fron t of t he dressing to ol
mount ed on the lathe . Avoid free-hand dress ing of the wheel
as it is inaccurate and also dangerous . I naccura tel y dressed
grinding w heels impair the surface finish.
8. Dismantling of motor
1. Pull ou t plug.
2. Take off pulley.
3. Unscrew 4 nuts (21) and remove hexagon scre ws (19).

Remo ve ball bearings .
Re-assemble in reverse seq uen ce .
8a Dismantling of spindle
1. Remo ve cylindrical scre ws (61) and take off pulley (62) or (92 )
as we ll as grinding w heel fla nge (63) or extens ion spindl e.
2.
Unscrew grubscrews (5 9, 60, 70).
3. Take out spindle shaft.
9. Maintenance and lubrication
1. Motor
Continuous use of the mo t or requires careful maintenance .
T
he rotor ball bearings are protected aga inst dust and dirt
and l oss of grease by sealing rings . Th e t oo l should be
cleaned thoroughl y aft er approx. 800 dut y hours and old
grease should be remo ved. Rins e ball bea ri ngs and r ef ill

with fresh, acid-free grease .
Clean a ll el ec tri c parts dr y a nd bl ow or brush away the dust.
2. Spindle
We recommend to take spind le apart after 500 duty hour s
and to clean all parts t hor o ughly. Rinse ball bearings and re-
fill 1(3 w ith acid-free grease .
10. Spare parts
