What to do if no probe data appears on my Fish Hawk X2 Fish Finder?
    • A
      Adam MorganJul 28, 2025
If no probe data is showing on the display, there are several potential causes. The probe may be out of the water (it only functions when submerged). The probe batteries might be low, requiring replacement with high-quality alkaline AA batteries. The Slip-Ducer™ also needs to be in the water to receive data. Check that the GAIN setting isn't too low; the default value is 15, adjustable via the SET and Up-arrow buttons. Finally, ensure the probe isn't too close to the Slip-Ducer™; keep the Slip-Ducer™ 12 inches below the surface.

Why are my Fish Hawk X2 probe readings wildly erratic?
    • M
      marcus49Aug 5, 2025
Erratic probe readings can be caused by sonar interference. To quickly address this, try turning off the 50 kHz or 83 kHz beam on your fish finder. Alternatively, reduce the Gain setting on the Fish Hawk display using the SET button and the down arrow key, or separate transducer cables if they are tied together. For a more permanent fix, relocate the transducer away from other 50 or 83 kHz transducers.

If the display won’t turn on, the batteries may not be installed correctly or may not have sufficient power. Install two high-quality AA alkaline or lithium batteries.

What to do if the probe temperature on my Fish Hawk X2 shows 3.8 – 4.0?
    • M
Mr. Timothy Davis DDSAug 19, 2025
If the probe temperature displays as 3.8 – 4.0, the thermistor tubes on the probe may be damaged. To prevent this issue, always use the supplied Probe Bumper and avoid leaving the probe on a downrigger cable when not in use.
