How to fix a FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance bag that is not sealing properly?
    • E
      eric93Aug 17, 2025
If your FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance bag isn't sealing properly, try the following: * If there's too much liquid in the bag, freeze it before vacuuming. * Check for food debris around the seal area. * If the bag has wrinkles, gently stretch it flat while inserting it into the Vacuum Channel to prevent wrinkles in the seal. * If the unit overheated, wait several minutes for it to cool down.

Why is the seal LED flashing on my FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance?
    • P
      Paul HayesAug 20, 2025
The seal LED might be flashing on your FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance due to several reasons: * The unit is overheated. Always allow 20 seconds between seals. Under heavy usage, the appliance will shut off automatically, and the Seal Light will flash. Wait for 20 minutes for the unit to cool off. * The latch has been left in the Operate position, which may compress the gaskets. Turn the latch to the Open or Store position and allow 10 to 20 minutes for the gaskets to expand. * The vacuum pump has been running for more than 120 seconds. Under heavy usage, the appliance will shut off automatically, and the Seal Light will flash. * The latch was left in the Operate position for 5 minutes without being used. Turn the latch to the Open or Store position if finished using the appliance.

What to do if air was removed from the bag, but now air has re-entered the FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance bag?
    • D
      Daniel BanksAug 25, 2025
If air was removed from the bag, but now air has re-entered, consider the following: * A wrinkle along the seal may cause air to re-enter the bag. To prevent wrinkles in the seal, gently stretch the bag flat while inserting it into the Drip Tray. * Moisture or food material along the seal may prevent the bag from sealing properly. Cut the bag open, wipe the top inside of the bag, and re-seal. * Fermentation or the release of natural gases from inside the foods may have occurred. When this happens, the food may have begun to spoil and should be discarded. * The bag could be punctured. Try another bag.

What to do if my FoodSaver Kitchen Appliance vacuum pump is running, but the bag is not evacuating air?
    • D
      Dr. Ashley ConnerNov 13, 2025
If the vacuum pump is running but the bag isn't evacuating air, consider these possibilities: * If you're making a bag from a roll, ensure one end of the bag is sealed. * Open the unit and check that the gaskets are inserted properly and are free of foreign objects, dirt, or debris. * If the latch was left in the Operate position during storage, the gaskets may be compressed. Turn the latch to the Open or Store position and allow 10 to 20 minutes for the gaskets to expand. * Sharp food items may have punctured the bag. Use a new bag if there is a hole. Cover sharp food items with a soft cushioning material, such as a paper towel, and re-seal. * Ensure the lid is latched down all the way.
