ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
The electric parking brake switch replaces
the conventional parking brake. The switch
is on the center console. To apply the
electric parking brake, pull the switch up.
The brake system warning lamp flashes,
then illuminates to confirm that you applied
the parking brake. To manually release the
electric parking brake, switch the ignition
on, press the brake pedal and then press
the switch down. The brake system warning
lamp turns o. Your vehicle automatically
releases the parking brake when the driver
door is closed, the vehicle is shied into gear
and you press the accelerator.
Note: If the electric parking brake warning
lamp stays on, then the electric parking
brake did not automatically release. You
must release the electric parking brake
using the switch.

ACTIVE PARK ASSIST*
Active park assist uses sensors to detect
available parallel or perpendicular parking
spaces and automatically steers the
vehicle (hands-free) when you control the
accelerator, gearshi and brakes. To use
active park assist, press the
button
to bring up full screen notifications.
Then use the so keys on the touchscreen
to switch between Parallel Park In,
Perpendicular Park In or Parallel Park Out
parking modes.
Use the direction indicator to select from
which direction you want to begin searching,
either to the le- or right-hand side of your
vehicle.
To enter a parallel parking space, drive your
vehicle approximately 3 (1 m) away from
and parallel to the other parked vehicles
when searching for a parking space. A tone
sounds and a message appears in the
instrument cluster display when active park
assist finds a suitable parking space. To
park, press and hold the brake pedal, then
release the steering wheel and shi into
reverse (R). Use the accelerator and brake to
control your vehicle’s speed when parking.
You are responsible for stopping your vehicle.
Active park assist is a multi-step process
and requires you to shi the transmission
multiple times. Follow the on-screen
instructions until parking is complete.
You can slow down your vehicle at any
time by pressing the brake pedal. Use the
park out assist feature when your vehicle
is at rest in a parallel parking space. Press
the active park assist button and select
parallel park exit. Use the direction indicator
to choose the direction to exit the space.
Press and hold the brake pedal. Release the
steering wheel and shi into the instructed
gear. Use the accelerator and brake to
control your vehicle’s speed when exiting
the parking space. You are responsible for
stopping your vehicle. Active park assist is
a multi-step process and requires you to
shi the transmission multiple times. Follow
the on-screen instructions until operation
is complete. Aer the system drives your
vehicle to a position where you can exit the
parking space in a forward movement, a
message appears instructing you to take
full control of your vehicle. For complete
