WARNING
If the engine is not running, the hydraulic
power steering and the compressed-airsup-
ply are inoperative. To steer, you willrequire
considerablymore force. The spring-loaded
parking brake can activate if there is aloss
of compressed air and the vehiclemay then
brake uncontrollably.You couldtherefore
lose control of the vehicle. There is arisk of
an accident.
Always use atow bar. Always ensure the
compressed-airsupply using an external
compressed-airsource.

Attachments and bodies can affect the
vehicleheight and breadth. Do not exceed
the permitted vehicleheight and observe
the legalrequirements for the country you
are currently in.
Fold in the wind deflector if the vehicleis
raised at the rear when towing away.
Drive with care and anticipate road and traf-
fic conditions. Observe the maximumclear-
ance of underpasses.

When towing/tow-starting, please observe
the following:

If the engine is not running, have the pro-
peller or drive shaft removed.Otherwise,
the transmission may be damaged.
R
If the engine is not running and the
spring-loaded parking brake is activated
as aresult of aloss of compressed air,
the brakes may overheat and be dam-
aged. Charge the compressed-airsystem
or disengage the spring-loaded parking
brake manually.
R
For vehicles with air suspension, check
the driving levelduring towing/tow-start-
ing and correct it if necessary. Otherwise,
parts of the vehicleorthe air suspension
couldbedamaged.
R
Before towing, switch off Active Brake
Assist. Otherwise, Active Brake
Assist couldbrake the vehiclewhile it is
being towed.This couldcausethe brakes
to overheat and be damaged.
If you transport the vehicleonalow-loader,
the permissible vehicleheight may be excee-
ded. Pay attention to the headroom clearance
of buildings, e.g. bridges.
Before towing away, agreeonaclearsignal
with the towing vehicledriver. Both you and
the towing vehicledrivermust adapt the driv-
ing style used to the more difficult conditions.

tow-starting and towing away.

Push license plate holder ; downslightly
and tilt it forwards.

Swing coupling pin : approximately9
backwards and pullitupand out.

Attach the towbar.

Push coupling pin : downthrough the eye-
let of the towing bar.

Swing coupling pin : approximately9
forwards and engageitinthe locking mech-
anism.
