Beforethe first journey
These OperatingInstructions, the Maintenance
or Service Booklet and the equipment-depend-
ent Supplementsare integral parts of the vehi-
cle. Keep these documents in the vehicle at all
times. If you sell the vehicle, alwayspass all
documents on to the new owner.
Beforeyour first journey, read these docu-
mentscarefully and familiarize yourself with
your vehicle.
For your own safety and alonger vehicle life,
alwaysfollow the instructions and warning
notes in these OperatingInstructions. Disre-
garding them may lead to damage to the vehi-
cle or personal injury.
Anydamage to the vehicle which has been
caused by disregarding the instructions will
not be covered by the New Vehicle Limited
Warranty.
Implied warranty

Follow the instructions in this Operator's
Manual about the proper operation of your
vehicle as well as about possible vehicle
damage. Damage to your vehicle that arises
from culpable contravention of these
instructions is not covered by the Limited
Warrantyofthe distributor named on the
inside of the frontcover.
Vehicle equipment
These OperatingInstructions describe all the
models and standard and optional equipment
of your vehicle that were available at the time
of going to print.Country-specific deviations
are possible. Bear in mind that your vehicle
may not be equipped with all the functions
described. This also applies to safety-relevant
systems and functions. The equipment in your
vehicle may therefore differ from that shown in
the descriptions and illustrations.
All systems found in your vehicle are listed in
your vehicle's original purchase agreement.
Should you have any questions concerning
equipment and operation,please consult a
Freightliner dealer.
Correct use
Observe the following information in particular
when operatingyour vehicle:

laws pertaining to motor vehicles and safety

There are various warning stickers on the vehi-
cle. If you remove the warning sticker, you or
othersmay not recognize dangers. Do not
move the warning sticker from its original posi-
tion.

WARNING
Modification to electronic components, their
software or wiring could impair their func-
tion and/or the function of other networked
components. In particular, systems relevant
to safety could also be affected. As aresult,
these may no longer function properly
and/or jeopardizethe operatingsafety of
the vehicle. There is an increased risk of
accidentand injury.
You must not tamper with wiring, electronic
components, or their software. You should
have all work on electrical and electronic
componentscarried out at aqualified spe-
cialist workshop.

WARNING
Gases and fluids from substances that con-
stitute ahealth hazard or react aggressively
can escape even from securely closed con-
tainers. When transporting such substances
in the vehicle interior, your ability to concen-
trateoryour health could be affected during
the journey. Malfunctions, short circuits or
electrical component system failures may
also result. There is arisk of an accidentand
fire.
Do not storeortransport any substances in
the vehicle interior which are hazardous to
health or react aggressively.
