Notes on driving
Damage to the vehicle may occur in the follow-
ing cases:
R
The vehicle becomes grounded,e.g. on a
highcurb or an unpavedroad.
R
You drive too fastover an obstacle, e.g. a
curb,aspeed bump or apothole in the road.
R
Aheavy object strikesthe underbody or
chassis components.
In such situations, the body, frame, under-
body, chassis parts, wheels or tires could be
damaged withoutthe damagebeing visible.
Components damaged in this waycan unex-
pectedly failor, in the case of an accident, no
longer withstand the strainthey are designed
for.
If the underbody paneling is damaged, flamma-
ble material, such as leaves, grass or twigs,
could collect between the underbody and
underbody paneling. If these materials come in
contact with hot parts of the exhaust system
for an extendedperiod,they can catch fire.

WARNING
Flammable materialsuch as leaves, grass or
twigsmay ignite if they come into contact
with hot parts of the exhaust system. There
is arisk of fire.
Whendriving on an unpavedroadoroff-
road, check the vehicle underside regularly.
In particular, remove trapped plant parts or
other flammable material. Contact aquali-
fiedspecialist workshop immediately if dam-
ageisdetected.
Have the vehicle checked and repaired imme-
diately at aqualified specialist workshop.If, on
continuing your journey,you notice that driv-
ing safety is impaired,pullover and stop the
vehicle immediately,paying attention to road
and trafficconditions. In such cases, consult a
qualified specialist workshop.

Diagnosticsconnection
The diagnostics connectionisusedfor con-
necting diagnosticequipment at aqualified
specialist workshop.

diagnostics connection, it can affect the
operation of the vehicle systems. Thismay
impairthe vehicle'soperating safety. There
is arisk of an accident.
Only connect equipment to adiagnostics
connectioninthe vehicle which is approved
for your vehicle by DaimlerTrucks North
America (DTNA).

Make surethat there is sufficient clearance
around the pedalswhenfloormats are used,
and that the floormats are properlysecured.
The floormats mustbecorrectly secured at
alltimes using the securing knob and retain-
ers.
