Useful information
These Operating Instructionsdescribe all the
models and standard and optional equipment
of your vehicle that were available at the time
of going to print.Country-specific deviations
are possible. Bear in mind that your vehicle
may not be equipped with all the functions
described. This also applies to safety-relevant
systemsand functions.

Seats
Important safetynotes

WARNING
You could lose controlofyour vehicle if you
do the following while driving:
R
adjust the driver'sseat, steering wheel or
mirrors
R
fastenthe seat belt
There is arisk of an accident.
Adjust the driver'sseat, steering wheel or
mirrors and fastenyour seat belt before
starting the engine.
G
WARNING
When you adjust aseat, you or other vehicle
occupants could becometrapped, e.g. on
the seat guide rail. There is arisk of injury.
When adjusting aseat, make sure that no
one has any body parts in the sweep of the
seat.

WARNING
The seat belt does not offer the intended
level of protection if you have not moved the
backrest to an almost vertical position.
When brakingorinthe eventofanaccident,
you could slide underneath the seat belt and
sustain abdomen or neckinjuries, for exam-
ple. This poses an increased risk of injury or
even fatal injury.
Adjust the seat properly before beginning
your journey. Always ensure that the back-
rest is in an almost vertical position and that
the shoulder section of your seat belt is
routed across the center of your shoulder.

WARNING
If the driver'sseat is not engaged, it could
move unexpectedly while the vehicle is in
motion. This could cause you to lose control
of the vehicle. There is arisk of an accident.
Always make sure that the driver'sseat is
engaged before starting the vehicle.

WARNING
If thereisnot enough clearance, the suspen-
sion seat could trap body parts between the
steering wheel and the suspension seat.
There is arisk of injury.
Ensure that thereisenough clearance for
the movementsofthe suspension seat.
Beforegetting out, lower the suspension
seat completely.

WARNING
If you push the suspension seat bellows
inwards, your hand could becometrapped.
There is arisk of injury.
Do not push the bellows inwards.

To preventdamage to the seats and the
seat heating, observethe following notes:
R
Do not pour any fluid on the seats. If fluid
is poured on the seats, dry it as quickly as
possible.
R
If the seat coversare damp or wet, do not
switchonthe seat heating. Also, do not
use the seat heatingtodry the seats.
R
Clean the seat coversasrecommended;
see the "Cleaning and care" section.
R
Do not transport any heavy loads on the
seats. Do not place any pointed objects
on the seat cushions, such as e.g. knives,
nails or tools. As far as possible, only use
the seats for people.
R
When operatingthe seat heating, do not
cover the seats with insulatingmaterials,
