If youswitch the air-recirculation modeon, the
windshieldsmay mistupmore quickly, espe-
ciallyatlow outsidetemperatures. Only switch
air-recirculation modeonfor ashort time.

To switchon: press air-distribution con-

Air-conditioning system
General notes

Switch on the airconditioning system at
leastonce amonth for aboutten minutes.
Otherwise, the refrigerant compressor could
be damaged.

Environmental note
Only switch on the air-conditioning system
when necessary. Fuelconsumption increa-
ses when the air-conditioning system is
switched on.
The air-conditioning system can only be oper-
atedwiththe engine running.
In order to ensure optimum functioning,close
the windows.
The air-conditioning system coolsand dehu-
midifies the airinside the vehicle. If required,
the auxiliary airconditioning system can be
switched on to cool and circulate the airinthe
cab to achieve an optimal climate control and
ventilation.
If youdeactivate the airconditioning, the air
inside the vehiclewillnot be cooled or dehu-
midified. Therefore, only deactivate the air
conditioning briefly. The windowsmay other-
wise mistupmore quickly.

Ventilate the vehiclefor abrief perioddur-
ing warm weatheror, if the air-conditioning
system is switched on, turn the blower
switch to air-recirculation mode
(Y page 61). Thiswillspeed up the cooling
process and the desiredinteriortempera-
ture will be reached more quickly.
If the windowsmistup, set the blower
switch back to freshair mode.
