Why is my Friedrich 2008 Air Conditioner not cooling enough?

If your Friedrich Air Conditioner is not cooling or only cools slightly, consider these potential causes: the unit might be undersized, so refer to an industry standard sizing chart. Ensure the thermostat is set to the coldest position and test/replace it if necessary. Clean the filter as recommended in the Owner’s Manual. Also, clean any dirt or restrictions from the condenser or evaporator coil using a pressure wash or biodegradable cleaning agent. Adjust the discharge louvers and use a high fan speed to improve air circulation. On applicable models, ensure the fresh air or exhaust air doors are closed. Check for leaks if the unit has low capacity, and if the compressor isn't pumping properly, check its amperage draw against the nameplate and perform a pressure test.
