  If your Friedrich Air Conditioner is running but not effectively cooling, several factors could be the cause. Ensure there is smooth cold air circulation. Check the outdoor coil (heat exchanger) and the fan operation. Also, examine for any increase in heat load or potential gas leakage. If a gas leak is detected, it should be repaired. If the unit is irreparable, consider a replacement. Adjusting the refrigerant charge may also resolve the issue. Repair any clogging in the inlet and outlet air refrigeration circuit. The unit should operate satisfactorily with a temperature difference of 44.6~50°F.

  If the compressor on your Friedrich Air Conditioner isn't running while the fan motor is, check the voltage against the specified limits. If it's outside these limits, consult an electrician. Inspect the wire connections and repair or replace any loose terminals. Check the rotary switch for continuity, referring to the wiring diagram for terminal identification; replace the switch if the circuit is open. Ensure the thermostat knob is set to the coldest setting, and restart the unit. Examine the capacitor and replace it if it's not within ±10% of the manufacturer's rating. Check the compressor for an open circuit or ground. Finally, inspect the compressor overload (if externally mounted) and replace it if it's open.
