See Routine Maintenance section. * Reduce excessive heat or moisture in the room by using exhaust fans and avoiding heat-producing appliances during hot times. * Give the unit extra time to cool down a very hot room.

  If your Friedrich air conditioner is not cooling well or only cools slightly, consider the following: * Refer to industry standard sizing chart to check if the unit is undersized. * See alarms and replace thermistor if indoor ambient thermistor is open or shorted. * Clean the filter as recommended in the Owner’s Manual. * Clean dirty or restricted condenser or evaporator coil using pressure wash or biodegradable cleaning agent. * Adjust discharge louvers and use high fan speed to improve air circulation. * Check for leak & make repair if the unit has low capacity undercharge. * Check amperage draw against nameplate and make pressure test if the compressor is not pumping properly.
