This document describes the FRIMEC International Fan Coil Unit (FCU) series, including Concealed Type (FCR, FFM), Low Noise Concealed Type (FCRQ), High Delta-T Ceiling Concealed Type (FCR), Cassette Type (FKM), and Wall Mounted Type (FWM) models. These units are designed for air handling systems, offering a range of capacities and configurations to suit various applications.
Function Description
The FRIMEC Fan Coil Units are designed to provide efficient air handling, including cooling and heating, for various indoor environments. They operate by circulating air over a heat exchanger coil, which either cools or heats the air depending on the water temperature supplied to the coil. Different models cater to specific installation requirements, such as concealed ceiling, low noise, high static pressure, cassette, and wall-mounted applications.

Maintenance Features
- Easy Maintenance: Equipped with high-quality electrical motors with low noise bearings that require minimal lubrication. Blowers and motors can be individually dismantled for cleaning of the heat exchanger. High-efficiency filters provide better filtration and longer operational life, and are easy to clean.
- Scheduled Cleaning: Dirty filters increase air resistance, and dirty heat exchangers reduce cooling capacity. Blocked drain pans can cause water dripping. Regular maintenance is crucial to clean filters, heat exchangers, and drain pans.
- Filter Requirement: Operating the unit without a filter is prohibited as it can lead to rapid blockage of the heat exchanger and poor heat transfer. Filters should be installed at the return air duct to maintain cleanliness of aluminum fins.
- Water Temperature Management: During summer, water temperature should not be lower than 5°C. During winter, it should not be higher than 80°C. Water must be treated and clean for optimum performance.
- Condensation Prevention: Avoid flowing cool water through the heat exchanger when the fan motor is idle, as this can cause extensive condensation. If the control system doesn't prevent this, manually close the water circuit using a hand valve.
- Long-Term Storage: For extended periods of non-use, water pipes and the heat exchanger should be filled with water to reduce internal corrosion. If the unit is idle throughout winter, the water pipe should be completely drained, and anti-freeze procedures adopted to prevent pipe breakage.
- Qualified Technicians: Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified technicians familiar with local codes and regulations.
- Safety Precautions: Sharp edges on the unit and heat exchanger are potential hazards. Power supply must be disconnected before any maintenance work.
- Troubleshooting Guide: A guide is provided for common issues such as the unit not operating, low airflow, bad odor, condensation, and water leakage, along with possible causes and solutions. If issues persist, contact a local dealer or service personnel.
