Why is the belt slipping on my Frontier GM1190R Lawn Mower?
    • S
      Stacy NelsonAug 15, 2025
Belt slippage on your Frontier Lawn Mower can occur if the mower is overloaded with material that is too tall or heavy. Try reducing the tractor's ground speed while maintaining full PTO rpm. You could also cut the material twice, first with a high pass, then at the desired height, or cut a partial swath. Slippage may also be caused by oil contamination from overlubrication. Be careful not to overlubricate, and clean any lubricant from the belt and pulleys with a clean rag. Replace the belt if it's oil-soaked. Another cause could be the belt being hung up or rubbing. Inspect the belt for free movement in the pulleys and belt guides. Check under the mower and around the blade spindle shafts for any foreign material like wire or rags, and clean it all out from under the mower.

Belt rollover on your Frontier Lawn Mower can be caused by pulley misalignment. Re-align the pulleys. It can also be caused by a damaged belt. Replace the belt. Another cause can be a foreign object in the pulley grooves. Inspect all pulley grooves for rust, paint, or weld spots and remove them. Lastly, the pulley groove may be worn. Replace the pulley.

What to do if material discharges unevenly from my Frontier GM1190R?
    • M
      Mark GreeneAug 21, 2025
Uneven discharge from your Frontier Lawn Mower, resulting in bunches of material along the swath, can occur if the material is too high or there is too much of it. Reduce ground speed while maintaining 540 rpm at the tractor PTO, or make two passes over the material. Raise the mower for the first pass, lower it to the desired height for the second, and cut at 90 degrees to the first pass. Raise the rear of the mower high enough to allow material discharge, but not so high that other issues arise. Wet grass can also cause this issue. Allow the grass to dry before mowing. Reduce ground speed but maintain full PTO rpm. Cutting lower may also help. Finally, it could be that the rear of the mower is too low, trapping material underneath. Adjust the mower height and attitude.

Why is my Frontier Lawn Mower leaving streaks in the swath?
    • J
      Jacob SimpsonAug 26, 2025
Streaking in the swath of your Frontier Lawn Mower can be caused by conditions that are too wet for mowing. Allow the grass to dry before mowing. Another cause is that the blades are unable to cut the grass pressed down by the tractor tires. Try slowing the tractor's ground speed while keeping the engine running at full PTO rpm. Cutting lower may also help. Dull blades may also be the culprit. Sharpen or replace the blades.

Why does the belt keep breaking on my Frontier GM1190R Lawn Mower?
    • R
      Richard SolomonAug 29, 2025
Belt breakage in your Frontier Lawn Mower can occur due to high shock loads. Avoid abusive mowing and hitting the ground or large obstructions. It can also happen if the belt came off the drive. Check the drive pulley for foreign material in the grooves and avoid hitting solid objects or the ground.

What causes frayed edges on the cover of my Frontier Lawn Mower?
    • M
      Mr. Jonathan QuinnSep 1, 2025
Frayed edges on the cover of your Frontier Lawn Mower can be caused by a misaligned belt or the belt rubbing against a guide. Re-align the belt or guide, ensuring the belt doesn't rub against any other part while running. Pulley misalignment can also be a cause. Inspect to ensure the belt runs in the center of the backside idler. Shim the idler as necessary to align it.

How to fix if my Frontier Lawn Mower cuts higher in the center?
    • A
      Ashley BeckerSep 7, 2025
If your Frontier Lawn Mower cuts grass higher in the center of the swath than at the edge, it may be because the mower's rear is higher than its front. Adjust the mower height and attitude so that the mower's rear and front are within 1/2" (13 mm) of the same height.
