When indoor and outdoor temperatures are
high
When both indoor and outdoor temperatures are high during the use of
the Heating mode, the outdoor unit’s fan may stop at times.
Low ambient cooling
When the outdoor temperature drops, the outdoor unit’s fans may switch
to low speed, or one of the fans may stop intermittently.
Other informations
Do not use the air conditioner for any purpose other than the room
cooling/dry, room heating, or fan.
For the permissible ranges of temperature and humidity for the
outdoor unit, refer to the outdoor unit installation manual.
During the Heating mode, the top of the indoor unit may become
warm, but this is due to the fact that the refrigerant is circulated
through the indoor unit even when it is stopped; it is not a
malfunction.
8. OPTIONAL PARTS
8.1. Wireless remote controller
The optional wireless remote controller can be used.
To check the available model of remote controller, consult authorized
service personnel.
<Restricted functions for wireless remote controller>
• Air ow direction setting
• Weekly timer
<Additional functions for wireless remote controller>
• Program timer
• Sleep timer
10 °C Heat operation
NOTE:
Depending on the remote controller, some functions may be
restricted. Refer to the operation manual of the remote controller
for details.
You can use both wireless and wired remote controller together.
However, some functions of the wireless remote controller may be
restricted.
8.2. Wired remote controller
You can use other types of the wired remote controller.
To check the available model of remote controller, consult authorized
service personnel.
NOTE:
Depending on the remote controller, some function may be
restricted. Refer to the operation manual of the remote controller
for details.
8.3. Multiple remote controller
You can connect two wired remote controllers to one air conditioner.
Either remote controller can control the air conditioner.
However, the timer functions cannot be used by the secondary unit.
8.4. Group control
One wired remote controller can control up to 16 air conditioners. All of
the air conditioners will be operated with the same settings.
8.5. Multi-split type air conditioner
NOTES:
Depending on model, this function cannot be used. For details,
please consult authorized service personnel.
This indoor unit can be connected to a multi-split type outdoor unit. The
multi-split type air conditioner allows multiple indoor units to be operated
in multiple locations. The indoor units may be operated simultaneously,
in accordance with their respective output.
Simultaneous Use of Multiple Units
When using a multi-split type air conditioner, the multiple indoor units
can be operated simultaneously, but when 2 or more indoor units of
the same group are operated simultaneously, the heating and cooling
e ciency will be less than when a single indoor unit is used alone.
Accordingly, when you wish to use more than 1 indoor unit for cooling
at the same time, the use should be concentrated at night and other
times when less output is required. In the same way, when multiple
units are used simultaneously for heating, it is recommended that they
be used in conjunction with other auxiliary space heaters, as required.
Seasonal and outdoor temperature conditions, the structure of
the rooms, and the number of persons present may also result in
di erences in operating e ciency. We recommend that you try various
operating patterns in order to con rm the level of heating and cooling
output provided by your units, and use the units in the way that best
matches your family's lifestyle.
If you discover that 1 or more units deliver a low level of cooling or
heating during simultaneous operation, we recommend that you stop
simultaneous operation of the multiple units.
The operation cannot be done in the following di erent operating
modes.
Heating mode and Cooling mode (or [Dry] mode)
Heating mode and Fan mode
The operation can be done in the following di erent operating modes.
Cooling mode and Dry mode
Cooling mode and Fan mode
Dry mode and Fan mode
The operating mode (Heating mode or Cooling (Dry) mode) of the out-
door unit will be determined by the operating mode of the indoor unit
that was operated rst. If the indoor unit was started in the Fan mode,
the operating mode of the outdoor unit will not be determined.
For example, if indoor unit (A) was started in the Fan mode and then
indoor unit (B) was then operated in the Heating mode, indoor unit (A)
would temporarily start operation in the Fan mode but when indoor
unit (B) started operating in the Heating mode, indoor unit (A) would
go into standby mode. Indoor unit (B) would continue to operate in the
Heating mode.
8.6. Simultaneous multi-split air conditioner
This indoor unit can also be connected to a simultaneous multi-split
connection that enables the simultaneous operation of multiple indoor
units by connecting the outdoor unit using a separation tube.
NOTES:
The number of connectable indoor units and connectable type of the
separation tube vary by model.
Depending on the model, this function cannot be used. For details,
please consult authorized service personnel.
In simultaneous multi-split connection, all indoor units can be operated
simultaneously, from one remote controller connected to the primary
indoor unit.
For this unique characteristic of the simultaneous multi-split connection,
the functions of other indoor units may be restricted.
