Overview

This document is the operating manual for a wired remote controller, specifically models UTY-RHRY and UTY-RHRG, manufactured by FUJITSU GENERAL LIMITED. It provides essential information for safe operation, troubleshooting, and understanding the device's functions and specifications.

Function Description

The remote controller serves as an interface for managing air conditioning units. It allows users to:

  • Start/Stop Operation: Initiate or terminate the air conditioner's operation with a dedicated button. A green LED lamp illuminates when the unit is operating.
  • Select Operation Mode: Choose from various modes including AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN, and HEAT (HEAT mode settings are not applicable for Cooling-only models).
  • Adjust Airflow Direction: Set the desired airflow direction or activate a swing mode using the "LOUVER" button. Indicators show the current direction (SWING, UP, DOWN).
  • Control Fan Speed: Select the fan speed from options such as AUTO, QUIET, LOW, and HIGH using the "FAN" buttons. The available fan speeds may vary depending on the type of indoor unit. The AUTO option allows the system to select the fan speed automatically.
  • Set Room Temperature: Adjust the desired room temperature using the "TEMP." up and down buttons. The temperature setting range varies by mode:
    • COOL/DRY/AUTO: 18 to 30 °C (64 to 88 °F) or 20 to 30 °C (68 to 88 °F).
    • HEAT: For VRF systems, 10 to 30 °C (48 to 88 °F); for other systems, 16 to 30 °C (60 to 88 °F). The lower limit of the setting temperature can differ based on the place of use.

The remote controller also supports administrative functions, particularly in systems with multiple indoor units. If the "Priority on Administrative indoor unit" mode is set, the operating mode of other indoor units is controlled by an Administrative indoor unit. When the Administrative indoor unit is set to "AUTO", "AUTO" is displayed alongside the current operating mode on other wired remote controllers, indicating that the Administrative indoor unit controls their operation.

Usage Features

The manual highlights several operational tips and indicators:

  • Cooling / Heating Priority (Heat Pump model only): If another indoor unit in the same system is already operating in cooling or dry mode, heating mode settings cannot be performed. An indoor unit set as an Administrative Indoor Unit can operate in AUTO mode, and it has priority for cooling and heating configurations.

  • Immediate Action for Malfunctions: In case of a malfunction (e.g., burning smell), immediately stop operation, turn off the electrical breaker, and consult authorized service personnel.
  • No Self-Repair or Modification: Users are strictly warned against repairing or modifying damaged cables or the unit itself. Such tasks must be performed by authorized service personnel to prevent electric shock or fire.
  • Professional Uninstallation/Installation: When moving the unit, consult authorized service personnel for uninstallation and installation.
  • Disposal of Packing Materials: Packing materials, especially plastic bags, should be disposed of safely to prevent children from playing with them and risking suffocation.

Safety Precautions (General)

The manual categorizes safety precautions into "WARNING" (procedures that could lead to death or serious injury) and "CAUTION" (procedures that could result in personal harm or property damage).

WARNINGS:

  • Do not repair or modify the unit yourself.
  • Do not use flammable gases near the unit, as this could cause a fire.
  • Avoid touching the unit with wet hands to prevent electric shock.
  • Keep children away from the unit or take preventive measures to ensure they cannot reach it.
  • The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

CAUTIONS:

  • Do not place vessels containing liquid on the unit to prevent heating, fire, or electric shock.
  • Do not expose the unit directly to water to avoid trouble, electric shock, or heating.
  • Do not place electrical devices within 1 meter (40 inches) of the unit to prevent malfunction or failure.
  • Do not use fire near the unit or place a heating apparatus nearby to prevent malfunction.
  • Do not touch the switches with sharp objects to avoid injury, trouble, or electric shock.

These guidelines ensure the safe and effective use of the remote controller and the associated air conditioning system.
