Overview

This document is a service manual for Fujitsu General Limited's Energy Recovery Ventilators. It provides detailed instructions and illustrations for the disassembly and maintenance of various models.

Function Description

Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) are designed to provide fresh air to a building while recovering energy from the exhaust air. This process helps to reduce the energy required to heat or cool the incoming fresh air, leading to improved energy efficiency and indoor air quality. The ventilators achieve this by transferring heat and moisture between the incoming and outgoing air streams through a heat exchange element.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual covers several models, categorized into two main series: 'B' and 'C', with different capacities. The models include:

  • UTZ-BD025B, UTZ-BD035B, UTZ-BD050B, UTZ-BD080B, UTZ-BD100B
  • UTZ-BD025C, UTZ-BD035C, UTZ-BD050C, UTZ-BD080C, UTZ-BD100C

Key components and their part numbers are listed for each model, indicating variations in specifications based on the model's capacity:

Common Components across models (with varying part numbers based on capacity):

  • FAN, SIROCCO: Different part numbers (e.g., FFV210F309, FFV210F307, FFV210F311) indicate variations in fan specifications for different models.
  • CASING PARTITION: Part numbers like FFV119F299, FFV119F300, FFV119F301 suggest different partition designs or sizes.
  • MOTOR PLATE: FFV119F303 to FFV119F308.
  • MOTOR: FFV322F512 to FFV322F511.
  • FILTER: FFV251F226 to FFV251F230.
  • HEAT EXCHANGER: FFV027F111 to FFV027F115.
  • ADAPTOR: FFV005F093 to FFV005F096.
  • LID MAINTENANCE: FFV218F081 to FFV218F084.
  • CAPACITOR: FFV090F222 to FFV090F225.
  • TERMINAL 8P (WIRE ASSY): FFV099F118 (consistent across all models).
  • DAMPER ASSY: FFV115F213 to FFV115F218.
  • RELAY: FFV341F006 (consistent across all models).
  • ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATOR REMOCON: EB90S1560 (consistent across all models).

Quantity of Heat Exchange Elements and Capacitors:

  • Heat Exchange Element:
    • UTZ-BD025B/C: 1
    • UTZ-BD035B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD050B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD080B/C: 3
    • UTZ-BD100B/C: 4
  • Capacitor:
    • UTZ-BD025B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD035B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD050B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD080B/C: 2
    • UTZ-BD100B/C: 2

The number of filters is consistently 2 for all models, regardless of the number of heat exchange elements.

Usage Features

The primary usage feature of these devices is to provide energy-efficient ventilation. By recovering energy from exhaust air, they help maintain comfortable indoor temperatures while introducing fresh outdoor air, reducing the load on HVAC systems. The remote control (REMOCON) allows for convenient operation and adjustment of the ventilator settings.

Maintenance Features

The manual provides detailed disassembly instructions for various components, facilitating maintenance and repair.

General Disassembly Steps:

  1. Safety First: Always stop operation and cut the power supply (breaker) before any maintenance.
  2. Accessing Internal Components:
    • Remove the Inspection Cover by turning two knobs and removing one screw.
    • Remove the Heat Exchange Element and the filter. The quantity and form of the heat exchange element vary by model (e.g., UTZ-BD025B/C has 1 element, while UTZ-BD100B/C has 4). All models use 2 filters.

Motor Assembly Removal (UTZ-025B/080B/100B/025C/080C/100C models):

  1. Remove the filter and heat exchange element.
  2. Remove one screw and then the Grooved Rail.
  3. Pull out Partition Board A in the direction of the arrow.
  4. Turn two screws on the Motor ASSY and remove the wired connector.
  5. Unhook the Motor ASSY.
  6. Rotate the Motor ASSY around its axis (note: the wheel is black).
  7. Pull the Motor ASSY out of the product.

Motor Assembly Removal (UTZ-035B/050B/035C/050C models):

  1. Remove the filter and heat exchange element.
  2. Remove one screw and then the Grooved Rail.
  3. Pull out Partition Board A in the direction of the arrow.
  4. Turn eight screws on the Motor ASSY and remove the wired connector.
  5. Pull the Motor ASSY out of the product.

Electrical Equipment Parts Removal:

  1. Remove two screws and the cover of the Electrical Equipment Box.
  2. Inside the box, components like the Capacitor, Relay, and Terminal can be accessed for inspection or replacement.

Damper Unit Removal:

  1. Remove three screws.
  2. Pull the Damper Unit out in the direction of the arrow.
  3. Remove the Damper Unit from the product.

These detailed instructions, accompanied by illustrations, ensure that technicians can effectively perform maintenance, replace parts, and troubleshoot issues, thereby extending the lifespan and optimizing the performance of the Energy Recovery Ventilators.
