  If the picture orientation is incorrect on your Furuno Marine Radar, it could be due to the Rotary Encoder inside the antenna unit, the SPU board inside the antenna unit, or the MTR-DRV board inside the antenna unit. If the message 'NO HEADLINE SIGNAL' appears, check the heading line signal cable and board connections. If there are no problems with cables or connections, replace the faulty board.

If still unsuccessful, the keypad may need replacement.

  If your Furuno Marine Radar is properly tuned but has poor sensitivity, possible causes include a deteriorated magnetron, a detuned MIC, dirt on the radiator face, water ingress to the waveguide or other feeder line, or the second trace echo rejection being active. Consider the following: 1. Check magnetron current with the radar transmitting on 48 nm range. If the current is below normal, the magnetron may be defective and need replacement. 2. Check the MIC detecting current. If it is below the normal value, the MIC may have become detuned and needs tuning. 3. Clean the radiator surface. 4. Remove water from the feeder line. 5. Disable the second-trace echo rejector.

  If your Furuno Marine Radar shows marks, indications, and noise but no echo (and the transmission leak representing your own ship position is absent), possible causes include activation of the TX high voltage protection circuit, a faulty magnetron, or issues with the MD or SPU boards inside the antenna. To troubleshoot: 1. Reset the power to restore normal operation. 2. Check the magnetron current and replace the magnetron if necessary. 3. Replace the MD board. 4. Replace the SPU board.
