This document is a user manual for the FUXTEC FX-RM series of petrol lawnmowers, available in German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish. The manual provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The FUXTEC FX-RM series lawnmowers are designed for private domestic use, specifically for mowing lawns. The primary function involves cutting grass using rotating blades. Depending on the model, the lawnmower may feature rear-wheel drive, FlexSpeed drive, rear ejection, side ejection, and mulching capabilities. The engine powers the cutting mechanism and, in self-propelled models, the wheels.

Usage Features:
- Assembly: The manual details two assembly variants (46-series and 51/53-series models) for the handle and grass catcher. Wheels may need to be attached for some models.
- Cutting Height Adjustment: A central height adjustment lever allows users to set the cutting height according to their needs.
- Fuel and Oil Filling: The lawnmower is delivered without oil or fuel. Users must fill SAE30 4-stroke engine oil and SUPER GASOLINE 95 octane (unleaded, no mixture) before starting. Specific instructions are provided to avoid overfilling and to handle fuel safely.
- Starting the Engine: For most models, this involves pulling the brake lever against the handle and then pulling the starter cable. Models like the 4646eco require pressing a primer pump 3-5 times before pulling the starter cable. Electric start models (e.g., FX-RM5196eS, FX-RM5196eSPRO, FX-RM5396PeSPRO) involve checking battery status, holding the brake lever, and pressing a start button.
- Stopping the Engine: Release the brake lever.
- Rear-Wheel Drive: Engaged by operating a shift lever on the handle.
- FlexSpeed Drive (variable speed): Available on specific PRO and eSPRO models, allowing users to adjust the forward speed by pushing or pulling a lever on the upper handle.
- Grass Catcher: The grass catcher bag is hooked onto the rear flap for collecting clippings.
- Side Ejection: For models with side ejection, a flap is opened, and a side ejector is inserted.
- Mulching: For models with mulching function, a mulch kit is inserted into the rear opening. A mulching blade is typically pre-mounted.
- Safety Instructions: Emphasizes wearing sturdy shoes and long pants, checking the mowing area for objects, avoiding use near children or pets, not operating on excessively steep slopes, and disconnecting the spark plug before maintenance. Warnings are provided regarding flammable fuel, hot engine parts, and potential injuries from rotating blades or flying objects.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Maintenance: Crucial for safety and performance. Involves tightening nuts, screws, and bolts.
- Oil Change: Recommended every 25 operating hours or seasonally. Involves draining old oil (using a FUXTEC suction pump or by tilting the mower) and refilling with new SAE30 4-stroke oil.
- Spark Plug: Clean with a wire brush after the engine cools down. Adjust the gap to 0.6 mm using a feeler gauge.
- Air Filter: Replace when dirty to prevent debris from entering the engine.
- Cleaning (EASY CLEAN function): The manual describes connecting a water hose to a dedicated port on the housing to clean the inner cutting unit while the engine is running, distributing water evenly to flush out debris. Regular cleaning of grass and mud deposits from the undercarriage is recommended.
- V-belt and Drive Wheels: Check the V-belt 1-2 times a year for cuttings. Clean the inside of the drive wheels annually by removing them and using a brush or compressed air to remove grass and dirt.
- Blade Replacement: Involves removing a screw. The fuel tank should be emptied before removing the blade. The fastening torque for the blade screw is 45Nm.
- Fuel Tank and Carburetor Emptying: Recommended for storage longer than 30 days to prevent damage from fuel degradation. This can be done using a FUXTEC suction pump or by running the mower until the fuel lines are empty. Alternatively, for some models, a drain plug on the carburetor can be loosened to drain fuel.
- Storage: Store the mower in a dry place, free from fuel in the tank, and allow the engine to cool completely before storing in enclosed spaces.
- Battery Maintenance (for electric start models): Store the battery in a dry room between 10°C and 25°C. Fully charge the battery every 6 months if stored for several months. The LED indicator on the battery shows its charge status (low, sufficient, full), and the charger has LEDs to indicate charging status (red for charging, green for full).
