Overview

The G.LAB MD3110/MD3130/MD3150/MD3111/MD3131/MD3151 Blood Pressure Monitor is a digital automatic device designed for non-invasive oscillometric measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate on adult individuals. It is suitable for both medical professionals and home users, offering quick and easy measurements. The device automatically saves measurement data, allowing users to review average and individual readings at any time.

Function Description:

The monitor utilizes the non-invasive oscillometric method to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. An inflatable cuff is wrapped around the upper arm to perform the measurement. The device includes an Irregular Heartbeat (IHB) detection function, which can help identify potential cardiac arrhythmia at an early stage. However, this function is not intended to replace a cardiac examination. The monitor also features a WHO Blood Pressure Classification Indicator, which provides a snapshot of blood pressure classification based on measurements, serving as a guide for understanding blood pressure values.

Usage Features:

  • Ease of Use: The device is designed for straightforward operation.
  • Memory Function: It has a memory capacity to store measurement data for up to four users (User 1, 2, 3, and 4), with 120 records per user, totaling 480 records. Each measurement is automatically saved.
  • Data Review: Users can recall average measurement data, including overall average, and AM/PM average data from the last seven days. Previous individual measurement data can also be viewed in chronological order (most recent to oldest, or oldest to most recent).
  • Date and Time Setting: The device allows for setting the current year, month, day, hour, and minute. This ensures that all measurements are time-stamped for accurate record-keeping.
  • Battery Operation: The monitor operates on four LR03 / AAA alkaline batteries. A battery level indicator on the display shows the current battery status, prompting replacement when low.
  • Optional AC Adapter: An optional 6VDC@600mA AC adapter can be used to power the device, which is sold separately. When the AC adapter is in use, the main unit does not draw power from the batteries.
  • Cuff Application Guidance: Clear instructions are provided for correctly applying the arm cuff, including positioning it 1/2 inch or 1-2cm above the elbow, ensuring the air tube aligns with the middle finger, and fastening it firmly without constricting blood circulation. The elbow should be placed steadily on a table or at a position where the cuff is level with the heart.
  • Measurement Process:
    • The device turns on from Clock Mode to Standby Mode.
    • Users can select a user number (1-4) before starting a measurement.
    • The cuff deflates to remove residual air before inflation begins.
    • During inflation, a pressurize indicator, pressure bar indicator, and current cuff pressure are displayed.
    • The monitor automatically determines the ideal inflation level and stops inflation.
    • During deflation, the device measures blood pressure and pulse rate. A releasing air indicator, pressure bar indicators, and current cuff pressure are displayed.
    • A heart mark flashes with each detected heartbeat.
    • If the cuff pressure is insufficient, the device will re-inflate to a higher pressure and restart the measurement.
    • Upon completion, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate are displayed and stored.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The device automatically returns to Clock Mode after one minute of inactivity.
  • Measurement Environment Recommendations: To ensure reliable and accurate measurements, users are advised to:
    • Verify upper arm circumference matches the cuff range.
    • Take measurements at the same time of day for consistency.
    • Measure in a quiet and comfortable indoor environment.
    • Avoid eating, drinking alcohol or caffeinated beverages, smoking, exercising, or bathing for 30 minutes before measurement.
    • Rest for at least 5 minutes before each measurement.
    • Avoid stressful conditions.
    • Avoid measurement when physically tired or exhausted.
    • Remain still and do not talk during measurement.
    • Position the cuff at heart level.
    • Relax and sit comfortably with feet flat on the floor, back straight, and feet uncrossed.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: Instructions are provided for removing and inserting new LR03 / AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Cleaning: The device and cuff should be cleaned carefully with a dry, soft cloth or a cloth dampened with water. Aggressive solvents such as alcohol, benzene, thinner, or other strong chemicals should not be used.
  • Storage: Avoid folding the cuff tightly for long periods, as this may shorten its lifespan. When storing, ensure no heavy objects are placed on top of the device.
  • Regular Inspection: It is generally recommended to have the monitor inspected every two years to ensure proper functioning and accuracy. Users should contact their dealer for maintenance services.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: A comprehensive troubleshooting section helps users identify and resolve common issues, such as display problems, error codes (E1-E6), and continuous re-inflation, by suggesting probable causes and corrective actions.
  • Disposal: Used equipment, parts, batteries, and optional accessories should be disposed of according to applicable local regulations to prevent environmental pollution.
