CAUTION – Do not poke in the openings of the grinder (in the bean hop-
per base and/or grinder outlet). You cannot remove any blockages this way. Do
not leave the grinder switched on, when the grinder is blocked. If the grinder
does not work, always immediately switch off the grinder (press the power but-
ton or withdraw the portafilter).
1. Without violence, try to turn the grind size dial to the highest number (16). Posi-
tion the storage container correctly in the grinder and, with the appliance live,
press the power button. If the grinder does not work: immediately switch off
the grinder (press the power button again).
2. If the grinder works: leave the grinder run for approx. 2 - 3 seconds with the
coarsest grind size (16). Thereafter, with the grinder still running, slowly turn the
grind size dial back to your preferred setting.
3. If the grinder does not work and/or the grind size dial is blocked too: Remove
the bean hopper and grinding sleeve for removing the obstacle (see: ‘Care and
Cleaning / Disassembling the Grinder’).

If any problems occur during operation, you will find the solution in this chapter.

Emergency stop? Unplug the appliance.
The motor does not start. The appliance is not live. Check the connection to the power supply. Is the power
outlet live? Connect a lamp.
The grinder is blocked. Immediately switch off and unplug the appliance.
Remove the obstacle (see: ‘Operation / Removing Blo-
ckages’). CAUTION: Do not poke in the openings of the
grinder (bean hopper base or powder outlet). You cannot
remove the blockage this way!
You are using an insuffici-
ent vessel.
Use the provided storage container or install the appropri-
ate portafilter cradle for grinding into a portafilter.
Using the storage contai-
ner: The storage container
is not inserted correctly
or the container lid is
missing.
The grinder can be operated only with the storage container
and container lid correctly in place. Ensure to prepare the
appliance for operation according to the instructions in chap-
ter ‘Operation / Grinding into the Storage Container’).
