The refl ector is one of the key elements of a
successful fi xture. You can have the best ballast
and the best lamp, but without a good refl ector you
waste a lot of light, every day you use it. Keeping your
re ectors in optimal condition is a must for good
results.
The Gavita HortiStar 1000 DE comes with a
replaceable high effi ciency Miro aluminum refl ector.
As an alternative, inlay refl ectors are available. It
is specifi cally designed for 1000 Watt double ended
lamps. The lamp cord terminal is shielded by a metal
housing. Installation is very easy with the two eye
bolts.

One of the best 1000 Watt HPS lamps in the market is the double ended Philips 1000W 400V EL lamp.
Specifi cally designed for high frequency electronic ballasts it has a connection at each side of the lamp
(hence double ended), removing the need for a frame support wire inside of the lamp. The absence of
a frame wire eliminates any shadows in the beam. Instead of vacuum it is gas fi lled which allows for a
smaller arc tube, improving the optical control. The Gavita HortiStar 1000 DE refl ector is specifi cally
designed for this type of lamp.
