How To Maintain The Carpet Shampooer/
Extractor
The instructions in this booklet serve as a guide to routine maintenance. Follow these suggestions to avoid
un necessary service calls.
Before storing the carpet shampooer/ extractor, on a linoleum or vinyl surface put the unit in the floor mode
and use clean water (with out solution) to flush out all remainin g particles in th e carpet shampooer/ extractor
un it.
• Place clean water in th e clean water solution tank.
• Operate th e unit, by pulling up on the Dispensing Trigger located in the carpet shampooer/
extractor’s handle.
• Activate the trigger for 4 strokes (2 forward and 2 backward).
• Then , release the trigger while operatin g the unit for another 4 strokes or until the flooring is dry.
For models featuring th e Attach ment Hose, on a linoleum or vinyl surface, activate the trigger on the attachmen t
handle to run clear water through th e nozzle using 4 backward strokes. Then release trigger and proceed with
any additional strokes to remove moisture. This will flush out all the remaining particles.
A. Clean Water Solution Tank M aintenance
NOTE: Turn off the power switch and unplug the electrical cord before
cleaning.
1. Remove the clean water solution tank by lifting up on the tan k
latch to release the clean water solution.
2. Grasp the carrying handle to remove the clean water solution
tank from the carpet shampooer/ extractor unit.
3. Empty any remainin g liquids from the clean water solution
tank.
4. Rinse the tank with warm tap water.
5. Thorough ly air dry the clean water solution tank before storing.
6. Place th e dry, clean water solution tank back onto th e carpet
sh ampooer/ extractor unit making sure it snaps securely into
place. See page 9 for more detailed instructions.
B. Recovery Tank M aintenance
NOTE: Turn off the power switch and unplug the electrical cord before
cleaning.
1. Remove the recovery tank from th e carpet shampooer/ extractor
un it by push ing the recovery tank latch downward to release it
from the unit.
2. Pull the tank out from the lower portion of the carpet
sh ampooer/ extractor unit.
3. Lift the tank lid off and empty con tents into a suitable water
drain.
4. Clean th e recovery tank an d lid with soap and water. Also, rinse
the filter after each use with water.
5. Thoroughly air dry the recovery tan k before storing.
6. To replace the recovery tank into th e unit, push th e dry recovery
tank all the way into th e carpet shampooer/ extractor until the
latch snaps to secure the tank. Be sure the ridge on the latch is
pushed all the way under the carpet shampooer/ extractor
housin g.
