CONTINUOUS
RECORDING
Records
continuously while
unit
is in
RECORD
mode.
1.
Place
AVR switch in "OFF" position.
2.
Depress the
RECORD
button
(PLAY
button
will automatically
depress).
You are now recording. (If the
RECORD
button
will
not depress, see
"PREVENTING
ACCIDENTAL
ERASURE".)
3.
Select HI or LO
with
the Mic Sensitivity Switch.
(a)
LO - for dictation.
(b)
HI - for conference recordings.
Recording
level may tie fine tuned
with
the Volume Control.
4.
Speak normally
into
the microphone
(built-in
or external). To
obtain
optimum
recording quality, place the recorder (or ex-
ternal mic)
with
the microphone freely exposed to sound
source
and as close as convenient.
NOTE:
A
built-in
automatic record level control
(ALC)
will set
record level for
optimum
recordings.
5.
When you finish recording, push
STOP/EJECT
button.
PAUSE
CONTROL
This
convenient
Pause
feature is most helpful while recording
(either AVR or Continuous) because you can stop the recorder
momentarily
without
resetting the control buttons. Slide switch to
PAUSE
to stop operation in
PLAY,
RECORD,
FAST
FORWARD
or
REWIND
modes; slide
PAUSE
switch to
PLAY
position to
resume
operation.
EXTERNAL
MICROPHONE
RECORDING
To
record
with
optional external microphone (No. 5-1053) plug
the microphone
into
the MIC
JACK
and
follow
the AVR or
Con-
tinuous Recording instructions.
When optional microphone is
used,
the
built-in
microphone is
automatically disconnected.
TAPE
SPEED
CONTROL
NORM
position is the tape speed which is compatible
with
most
other single speed microcassette recorders. When longer recor-
dings are desired, use Vi speed position.
1/2 NORM
SPEED
V2 speed doubles the record time and will allow up to 2 hours of
recording time when using
both
sides of a 60 MIN (MC-60)
microcassette
tape.
Do not change speed while recording.
