How to fix a GE Air Conditioner that does not start?
    • K
      Karen MeyersAug 17, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner isn't starting, make sure it's properly plugged into the wall outlet. Check if a house fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped; replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Also, verify that the plug current device hasn't tripped by pressing the RESET button. Finally, ensure that the power is turned ON.

Why is my GE AJCQ06LCH not blowing cold air?
    • M
      Mike RuizAug 20, 2025
If the air from your GE Air Conditioner isn't cold enough, it could be due to several reasons. If the room temperature is below 62°F (17°C), cooling may not occur until the temperature rises above this level. Check if the temperature sensor behind the air filter is touching the cold coil and keep it away from the coil. You may also need to set the unit to a lower temperature. If you've just changed modes, wait for 3 minutes after setting it to the COOL mode, to allow the compressor to start.

Why is my GE Air Conditioner dripping water outside?
    • A
      Amanda ByrdAug 22, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner is dripping water outside when cooling, it is likely removing a large quantity of moisture from a humid room, which is normal during excessively humid days.

What to do if GE AJCQ06LCH Air Conditioner is cooling but the room is too warm and ice is forming?
    • M
      Michael BrockAug 26, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner is cooling, but the room is too warm and ice is forming on the cooling coil, try the following: If the outdoor temperature is below 64°F (18°C), set the unit to FAN ONLY mode to defrost the coil. Clean the air filter, as a dirty filter can cause this issue. If you have the thermostat set too cold for nighttime, switch to FAN ONLY mode to defrost, then raise the temperature setting. Ensure the air directional louvers are positioned correctly for better air distribution. Clear any blockages in front of the unit like drapes or furniture, and close any open doors, windows, or registers. If none of these issues apply, allow additional time for the unit to remove stored heat from the room.

Why does my GE AJCQ06LCH Air Conditioner turn on and off rapidly?
    • R
      Robert BrownAug 28, 2025
If your GE Air Conditioner is turning on and off rapidly, try cleaning the air filter, as a dirty filter can restrict airflow. If the outside temperature is extremely hot, set the FAN speed to a higher setting to cool the outdoor cooling coil.

Why is my GE AJCQ06LCH making noise when cooling?
    • K
      Kimberly PowersAug 30, 2025
Some noise is normal due to air movement in your GE Air Conditioner. If it's too loud, try setting the FAN to a slower speed. Also, check the installation; improper installation could be the cause.
