Application High Level Acknowledgment Messages
Overview
The monitor Outbound HL7 interface supports application level message
acknowledgments formatted as HL7 original mode acknowledgments. This
function allows the HIS receiving application to acknowledge receipt and
successful processing.The acknowledgment message returned to the sending
application is used to determine whether to log the message to the monitor
service error system.
The HL7 acknowledgment configuration is optional in monitor’s HL7 service
menu, which will require acknowledgment message to be sent back to monitor
or not from HL7 receiver system. The default acknowledgment configuration is
Enable in monitor HL7 service menu.
NOTE: GE recommends enabling the HL7 acknowledgement option in the
monitor's service menu. Disabling this option may miss some data, if
the HL7 receiver system has the feature of sending acknowledge
message.
Acknowledgment Message Composition
Acknowledgment messages contain the following HL7 interface segments:
