CAUTION
Donotapplypressurizedairorgastoanyoutletortubing
connectedtothemonitor.Pressuremaydestroysensitive
elements.
Permitteddetergents
Thefollowingpermitteddetergentscanbeusedtocleanthedeviceandother
non-appliedpartsunlessthereareseparatepart-specicinstructions.Non-applied
partsrefertothosepartsofthesystemthatarenotindirectcontactwiththepatient.
Water
EnzymaticorneutralpHdetergents
Cleaningpointstonote
Warrantydoesnotcoveranydamagescausedbyusingsubstancesormethods
notapprovedbyGE.
GEmakesnoclaimsastotheefcacyofthelistedsubstancesormethodsto
controlinfection.
Alwaysdilutecleaninganddisinfectantagentsaccordingtotheirmanufacturer’s
instructions.Alwaysconsideryourhospitalguidelinesaswell.
Yourhospitalguidelinespermitting,allcleaninganddisinfectionactivitiescan
becarriedoutatthebedside.
Donotletliquidpoolaroundconnectionpins.Ifthisshouldhappen,blotdrywitha
soft,lint-freecloth.
Donotuseexcessivedryingtechniques,suchasoven,forcedheat,orsundrying.
Donotspraycleanerdirectlyonthedisplayscreen.
Neverconnectanydeviceorappliedparttoapatientuntilitisthoroughlydry.
Ifyoudiscoveranysignsofdeteriorationordamageinthedevice,discontinueits
use.
Generalcleaninginstructions
Followtheseinstructionstocleanthedevicesandothernon-appliedpartsunlessthe
otherpartsprovidepart-specicinstructions.Non-appliedpartsrefertothosepartsof
thesystemthatarenotindirectcontactwiththepatient.
1.Disconnectthedevicefromthehost.
2.Removeallcablesandthebattery.
3.Closethebatterydoor.
4.Dampenasoftlint-freeclothwithoneofthepermitteddetergents.
5.Wringexcessliquidfromtheclothandwipetheexteriorsurface.Payspecial
attentiontohard-to-cleanareas,likegroovesandcrevices.
Removeanysoilassoonaspossibleafterusebywipingthedevice.
Anycontactofcleaningsolutionswithmetalpartsmaycausecorrosion.
Donotdamageorbendconnectorpinswhencleaningordrying.
Donotletuidpoolaroundconnectionpins.Ifthishappens,blotdrywith
acottonswaborsoftcloth.
