  If your GE Dishwasher is not drying dishes effectively, there are several possible causes. First, ensure that the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F. Selecting Heated Dry and Wash Temp Boost options can also help. Consider using a higher cycle setting, such as Wash Temp Sani, Sanitize Temp, or Heavy. Check the rinse agent dispenser and fill it if it's empty. If you're using a Light cycle, which uses lower water temperature, switch to a different cycle. Finally, allow the selected cycle to fully complete.

  If your GE Dishwasher won’t run, check a few things: make sure the fuse isn't blown or the circuit breaker isn't tripped, and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Ensure power is turned on, especially if the dishwasher is connected to a wall switch. Also, check if the control panel is locked and unlock it if necessary; refer to the Getting Started section for instructions.

  If the control panel responded to inputs but your GE Dishwasher never filled with water, make sure the door is firmly closed. Also, ensure the water valve (usually located under the sink) is turned on. The flood float may be stuck; remove the Ultra-Fine filter and lightly tap the piece under it that looks like a salt shaker, then replace the filter.

  If your GE Dishwasher cycle is taking a long time, it is normal. The dishwasher washes by alternating between the middle and lower spray arms. Also, the turbidity sensor detects how much soil is on the dishes. Heavily soiled loads will add more time to the cycle. Allow the cycle to complete for best wash and dry performance.

  If the start status indicator light is flashing on your GE Dishwasher, it means the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. To restart, press the Start pad once and close the door within 4 seconds. If you want to cancel the cycle while the dishwasher is running, press the Start pad a second time.

  To address a stained tub interior in your GE Dishwasher, consider these solutions: For reddish stains from tomato-based foods, use the Steam cycle (on some models) after adding the dish to the load. For tea or coffee stains, remove them by hand using a solution of 1/2 cup bleach and 3 cups warm water. If you notice an overall yellow or brown film caused by iron deposits in water, a special filter in the water supply line is needed; contact a water softener company. For white film caused by hard water minerals, GE Appliances recommends Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid and running the dishwasher with citric acid to remove the deposits; citric acid (Part number: WD35X151) can be ordered through GE Appliances Parts, or you can use Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner following the label directions.
