Why is my GE GDF510PSRSS Dishwasher tub interior stained?
    • S
      shepherdkellySep 12, 2025
Staining can occur for several reasons. Tomato-based foods can cause reddish stains; use the Steam Sani cycle after adding the dish to the load to decrease staining. Tea or coffee stains can be removed by hand using a solution of 1/2 cup bleach and 3 cups warm water (do not use bleach on stainless steel inner door and wait at least 20 minutes after a cycle before cleaning). An overall yellow or brown film can be caused by iron deposits in water, which requires a special filter in the water supply line. White film can be caused by hard water minerals; use high-quality rinse agents and run the dishwasher with citric acid or Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner.

Why won't water pump out of the tub of my GE GDF510PSRSS?
    • A
      Amber SteinAug 25, 2025
If water won’t pump out of the tub, the drain may be clogged. If you have an air gap, clean it. If the dishwasher drains into a disposer, run the disposer to clear it. Check if your kitchen sink is draining well; if not, you may need a plumber.

Why aren't my dishes drying in my GE Dishwasher?
    • J
      James MorganAug 27, 2025
Several factors can affect drying performance. Ensure the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F. Select Heated Dry or Dry Boost and Wash Temp Boost. Check the rinse agent dispenser and fill if needed. On some models, leave the door closed after the Clean light appears to allow the fan to run for an additional 90 minutes. If using the Light cycle, switch to a different cycle. Allow cycles to fully complete.

      Benjamin OrtizAug 27, 2025

How to fix control panel lights that go off when setting controls on my GE Dishwasher?
    • M
      Michael HarrisAug 29, 2025
If the control panel lights go off while setting controls, it means there was too much time between touching the selected pads. Each pad must be touched within 30 seconds of the others. To relight the panel, touch any pad again or open the door and unlock (top control).

Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE GDF510PSRSS Dishwasher?
    • A
      Angela DrakeNov 21, 2025
There are several reasons why your dishes might not be getting clean. It could be due to a clogged Ultra-Fine Filter assembly or Fine Filter. Consult the Care and Cleaning section for instructions. Low inlet water temperature can also be a factor; ensure it's correct by running the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until the temperature stops rising before starting the dishwasher. Low water pressure could also be the culprit; wait until the pressure is normal before using the dishwasher. Other potential causes include a clogged air gap or disposer, improper rack loading (make sure large dishware doesn't block the detergent dispenser or wash arms), or poor-performing detergent. Also, ensure that the high drain loop or air gap is properly installed according to the Installation Instruc...

Why doesn't the Sanitized light illuminate at the end of the cycle on my GE GDF510PSRSS?
    • K
      Kristin KelleySep 18, 2025
The Sanitized light won't illuminate if the door was opened and the cycle was interrupted during the final rinse. Avoid interrupting the cycle. Also, ensure the incoming water temperature is between 120°F and 150°F.

Why is my GE GDF510PSRSS making noise?
    • N
      nicholaschapmanSep 23, 2025
Some noises are normal operating sounds, such as beeping at the end of the cycle, the detergent cup opening, water entering the dishwasher, the motor starting and stopping, the spray arms starting and stopping, and the drain pump running. If dishes are rattling, make sure they are properly loaded. If silverware is rattling against the door, place tall utensils in the upper rack.

How to get rid of a white film on glassware, dishware and the interior of my GE GDF510PSRSS?
    • D
      Dale BrownSep 5, 2025
A white film is likely caused by low-quality phosphate-free dishwasher detergent. To remove it, run a cycle with citric acid (WD35X151 kit available online) in the detergent cup, without silverware or metal items. Alternatively, use Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner. A vinegar rinse (1 cup) after the detergent cup opens may also help. High-quality rinse agents like Cascade® Platinum™ Power Dry™ Risnse Aid or Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid and detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent can prevent future buildup.
