Why is there cloudiness on glassware in my GE Dishwasher?

  Cloudiness can occur due to a combination of soft water and too much detergent, which is called etching and is permanent. Use less detergent if you have soft water and wash glassware in the shortest cycle possible. It can also be caused by low performing phosphate-free detergent (see A white film on glassware, dishware and the interior in this TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS section), or water temperature exceeding 150°F (66°C). If the water temperature is too high, lower the water heater temperature.

How to fix flashing start light on GE GDT225 Dishwasher?

  The start status indicator light flashes if the door was opened or the cycle was interrupted. To restart the dishwasher, press the Start pad once and close the door within 4 seconds. If you want to cancel the cycle when the dishwasher is running, press the Start pad a second time.

  An overall yellow or brown film can be caused by iron deposits in the water; a special filter in the water supply line is the only way to correct this. Contact a water softener company. A white film on the inside surface can be caused by hard water minerals. Use Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to help prevent these deposits. You can also run the dishwasher with citric acid (Part number: WD35X151) or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner, following the directions on the label.

  Suds usually indicate the wrong detergent is being used. Use only automatic dishwasher detergents to avoid sudsing. Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent is approved for use in all GE Appliances dishwashers. Also, if rinse agent was spilled, wipe it up immediately.

Why does GE Dishwasher control panel turn off?

  This happens if there's too much time between touching the selected pads. Each pad must be touched within 30 seconds of the others. To relight the control panel, touch any pad again or open the door and unlock.
