Why do my clothes take so long to dry in my GE GFD45 Dryer?
- PPaige LiuAug 15, 2025
If your GE Dryer is causing clothes to take too long to dry, there might be several reasons. First, ensure the dryer venting is correct according to the Installation Instructions. Check for any kinks or obstructions in the ducting and verify the outside wall damper operates easily. Also, clean the lint filter before every load. Other causes include improper sorting (separate heavy and light items), overloading (don't put more than one washer load in at a time), or underloading (add a few items if drying only one or two). Ensure controls are properly set for the load and check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers, replacing or resetting them as needed. Note that some cycles may extend dry times to reduce energy usage if eDry is enabled.
