Why does my GE Washer pause during the wash cycle?
    • N
      Nicholas DudleySep 9, 2025
If your GE Washer pauses during the wash cycle, it is normal if you have selected the Soak Option. The washer alternates between agitating and soaking to clean clothes more effectively with less wear.

What to do if my GE Washer won’t drain?
    • D
      Daniel StoneAug 23, 2025
If your GE Washer is not draining, check if the drain hose is kinked or if the washer is sitting on it. Straighten the hose and ensure the top of the drain outlet is less than 8 ft (2.44 m) above the floor.

Why is my GE Washer leaking water?
    • P
      pmossAug 25, 2025
If your GE Washer is leaking water, try the following: switch to High Efficiency detergent. Use less detergent, especially if you have soft water or a lightly soiled load. Ensure fill and drain hoses are tightly connected with rubber washers installed, and the drain hose is correctly inserted and secured. Check for clogs in your household plumbing and ensure the drain hose isn't rubbing against the wall. Also, tighten hoses at the faucets and consider replacing fill hoses every 5 years due to constant water pressure.

Why are my clothes grayed or yellowed after washing in my GE GNW128P Washer?
    • L
      Lauren SolomonAug 26, 2025
If clothes are grayed or yellowed after washing in your GE Washer, ensure you are following the detergent manufacturer’s directions and consider using a water conditioner or softener if you have hard water. Make sure your water heater is delivering water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C). Avoid overloading the washer, loading clothes loosely no higher than the top row of holes in the basket. Sort clothes by color to prevent dye transfer, and separate lint producers from lint collectors. For small loads, use a shorter wash time with the Light Soil setting. If detergent isn't dissolving, rewash with liquid detergent and warmer water. Loosely load clothes around the outside of the basket to prevent overloading.

    • C
      Cheryl ClayAug 27, 2025

How to prevent snags, holes, tears, rips or excessive wear on clothes washed in my GE Washer?
    • R
      Rodney MartinezSep 7, 2025
If you notice snags, holes, tears, rips, or excessive wear on your clothes after washing them in your GE Washer, make sure to fasten snaps, hooks, buttons, and zippers before washing. Remove any loose items like pins or objects from pockets, and turn knits inside out to prevent snagging. Use the correct amount of bleach as per the package instructions, and never apply undiluted bleach directly to clothes. Rinse items with potential chemical residue, such as hair bleach or dye, before washing, and use the Speed Wash cycle with the Extra Rinse option.

Why is water pumped out before cycle is complete in my GE GNW128P?
    • B
      benjamin05Sep 4, 2025
If your GE Washer is dispensing water before the cycle is complete, it may be because the previous cycle was cancelled. To resolve this, close the lid, select a new cycle, and start the machine.
