  If the clock on your GE Ranges flashes after a power outage or surge, reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by touching the Clear/Off pad, setting the clock, and resetting any cooking function.

  The cooling fan in your GE Ranges may automatically turn on and off to cool internal parts, which is normal. The cooling fan will cycle on and off as needed.

Clean up any significant spillovers before initiating the clean cycle. For heavily soiled ovens, running the self-clean cycle again or for a longer duration may be necessary.

Why does the display go blank on my GE JgB280?

  If the display on your GE Ranges goes blank, a fuse in your home may be blown, or the circuit breaker tripped. Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Also, the clock may be turned off, so it does not show in the display. See the Using the clock and timer section.

  If your GE Ranges oven isn't self-cleaning, ensure the oven has cooled to room temperature before starting the self-clean cycle. Also, on models with a door latch, make sure the oven door is fully locked by moving the door latch handle all the way to the right.
