How to prevent wrinkling in GE Washer?
    • K
      Kelly CarrollSep 18, 2025
To minimize wrinkling when using your GE Washer, avoid mixing heavy items (like work clothes) with light items (like blouses). Load your washer so clothes have enough room to move freely. Match cycle selection to the type of fabric you are washing, especially for easy care loads. Wash in warm or cold water to avoid repeated washing in water that is too hot.

Why is the water temperature incorrect in my GE Washer?
    • R
      Renee HillSep 18, 2025
If the water temperature is incorrect in your GE Washer, make sure the hoses are connected to the correct faucets (hot to hot, cold to cold). Also, ensure your house water heater is delivering water at 120°–140°F (48°–60°C).

Why is the pump running while my GE Washer is not in use?
    • D
      Daniel BakerSep 23, 2025
If the pump is running while your GE Washer is not in use, it is normal. The drain sump is detecting an undesired water fill level from a potential open faucet. Shut off the water valve and inspect the water valve for blockage.

Why is my GE PFW950 Washer cycle incomplete or the timer not advancing?
    • J
      Joseph VillarrealSep 23, 2025
If your GE Washer cycle is incomplete or the timer isn't advancing, it could be due to the automatic load redistribution feature, which can add up to 3 minutes to the cycle for each rebalance, possibly doing 11 to 15 rebalances. This is normal, so allow the machine to finish the wash cycle. A clogged pump filter may also be the cause; refer to the Care and Cleaning section for instructions on cleaning the Pump Filter. Additionally, a kinked or improperly connected drain hose can cause this issue, so straighten the drain hose and ensure the washer isn't sitting on it. Also, check your household plumbing for clogs, calling a plumber if necessary. Finally, ensure the drain hose isn't siphoning by ensuring there's an air gap between the hose and drain.

    • T
      tmendozaSep 23, 2025

Why does water not enter my GE Washer or enters slowly?
    • G
      Glenn AustinNov 25, 2025
If water does not enter your GE Washer or enters slowly, the washer performs several system checks after Start is pressed, and water will flow a few seconds after. Turn off the water source and remove the water connection hoses from the upper back of the washer to clean the screens in the machine with a brush or toothpick. Reconnect the hoses and turn the water back on. Turn off the water source and remove the inlet hoses from the wall faucets to clean the screen washers in the end of the hoses with a brush or toothpick. Reconnect the hoses and turn the water back on. See the Care and Cleaning section on how to clean the Pump Filter. Check that fill hoses are not kinked or clogged. Turn on both hot and cold faucets fully. This is an energy-efficient washer. As a result, the temperature set...

How to fix GE PFW950 Washer not draining, spinning, or tumbling?
    • S
      Sarah HollandAug 23, 2025
If your GE Washer isn't draining, spinning, or tumbling, first, redistribute the clothes and run the Rinse & Spin cycle. If you're washing a small load with heavy and light items, increase the load size. Also, the pump filter might be clogged, so refer to the Care and Cleaning section for instructions on cleaning it. Ensure the drain hose is straight and not compressed by the washer. Check your household plumbing for clogs and call a plumber if needed. Finally, make sure there's an air gap between the drain hose and the drain to prevent siphoning.

How to stop loud noise, vibration, or shaking in my GE PFW950 Washer?
    • M
      Melanie GravesSep 6, 2025
If your GE Washer is making loud or unusual noises, vibrating, or shaking, several factors could be responsible. The washer is designed to move slightly (about 1/4 inch) to reduce forces transmitted to the floor, which is normal. Ensure all rubber leveling legs are firmly touching the floor by pushing and pulling on the back of the washer to check its level, adjusting the legs as needed and locking them in place. An unbalanced load can also cause this; pause the unit, open the door, and manually redistribute the load. To test the machine, run a rinse and spin cycle with no load. If it runs normally, the unbalance was caused by the load. A clogged pump filter may also be the cause; refer to the Care and Cleaning section for instructions on cleaning the Pump Filter.

Why are the clothes too wet after washing in my GE PFW950?
    • J
      jacquelinevillanuevaSep 5, 2025
If your GE Washer leaves clothes too wet, it could be due to a few reasons. The load might be out of balance, so try redistributing the clothes and running a Rinse & Spin cycle. The pump filter may be clogged; see the Care and Cleaning section for cleaning instructions. Overloading the washer can also cause this issue; ensure the dry weight of the load is less than 16 lbs. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked or that the washer isn't sitting on it. Lastly, make sure the drain hose isn't siphoning by ensuring there's an air gap between the hose and drain and that it's not inserted more than 7 inches into the drain pipe. Also, check your household plumbing for clogs, calling a plumber if necessary.
