Pre-filter, Post filter and RO Membrane Cartridge Replacement (PNRV12 and GXRV10)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
For use with GE reverse osmosis filtration systems
1. Turn OFF the icemaker
(if attached to RO System).

4. Turn on RO faucet. Drain tank
(may take several minutes).
Turn off RO Faucet.
4. Ouvrez le robinet d’OI. Videz le

5. Remove sumps. (Careful—sumps
will be full of water.)
5. Discard filters. Thoroughly wash
sumps with dish soap. Thoroughly
wipe inside of heads with a paper
towel moistened with dish soap.
Rinse well.

detergente de lavar platos al interior
de las cabezas. Enjuague bien.
6. Remove cap (unscrew tubing
first—on some models). Use pliers
to remove the RO Cartridge. Place
in a clean plastic bag or discard if
replacing. Thoroughly wipe inside
of housing and cap with a paper
towel or dish brush moistened
with dish soap. Rinse well.
6. Enlevez le capuchon (dévissez

la dans un sac en plastique propre

6. Retire la tapa (destornille el tubo
primero—en algunos modelos).
Use unos alicates para retirar el
cartucho de ósmosis inversa.
Colóquelo en una bolsa plástica o
deséchelo si lo está reemplazando.
Limpie completamente el interior
del compartimiento y la tapa con
una toalla de papel o cepillo de

7. Replace empty Post-filter sump.
8. Fill pre-filter sump with water to
within 1″ of O-ring. Add 2 oz.
(4 Tbsp) ordinary household
bleach. Replace Pre-filter sump.

Turn Off Icemaker

Shut down the icemaker if it is attached to the RO system before proceeding.

Wash Hands with Antibacterial Soap

Clean hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap to ensure hygiene during the process.

Turn Off Water Supply

Shut off the main water supply line to the RO system to prevent leaks.

Drain RO System Tank

Open the RO faucet to drain the system's tank, which may take several minutes.

Remove Filter Sumps

Carefully remove the filter sumps, which contain water, and discard old filters.

Remove RO Cartridge

Unscrew the cap, remove tubing if necessary, and use pliers to extract the RO cartridge.

Replace Post-filter Sump

Install the empty post-filter sump housing into the system.

Prepare Pre-filter Sump

Fill the pre-filter sump with water up to 1" of the O-ring and add bleach.

Turn On Water and Fill System

Restore water supply and allow the system to fill for 10 minutes.

Flush System

Run water for 20 minutes or until bleach odor disappears, then turn off supply and drain.

Install New Filters

Insert new filters into the sumps and tighten them securely.

Install RO Cartridge and Cap

Install the RO cartridge with the O-ring first, lubricate the cover O-ring, and tighten the cap.

Replace Flow Control and Screen

If the RO cartridge was replaced, also replace the flow control and screen.

Refill System and Check Leaks

Turn on water supply, let the system refill (up to 4 hours), and check for leaks.

Reset Filter Change Indicator

Replace batteries to reset the filter change indicator light and ensure proper operation.

Post-Filter Flushing

Allow faucet to run for 5 minutes to remove harmless carbon particles.

RO Cartridge Flushing

Fill and empty the storage tank three times to remove preservative odor.

Turn On Icemaker

Once the storage tank is full, turn the icemaker back on.
