Why is my GE Ventilation Hood fan not circulating air properly?
- Nnancy82Jul 29, 2025
If the GE Ventilation Hood fan fails to circulate air or moves slower than normal, and/or makes loud noises, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the vent and that your wall or roof cap has a blade or door. Next, verify that the damper blade on the wall or roof cap swings freely and is in its original position. A dirty metal grease filter or charcoal filter (if present) can also cause this issue, so clean the metal grease filter and replace the charcoal filter. Finally, insufficient makeup (replacement) air may be the cause; ensure that you have sufficient makeup air and check local building codes, which may require or advise its use.
