Why is my GE Ventilation Hood fan not circulating air properly?
    • N
      nancy82Jul 29, 2025
If the GE Ventilation Hood fan fails to circulate air or moves slower than normal, and/or makes loud noises, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the vent and that your wall or roof cap has a blade or door. Next, verify that the damper blade on the wall or roof cap swings freely and is in its original position. A dirty metal grease filter or charcoal filter (if present) can also cause this issue, so clean the metal grease filter and replace the charcoal filter. Finally, insufficient makeup (replacement) air may be the cause; ensure that you have sufficient makeup air and check local building codes, which may require or advise its use. Visit GEAppliances.com for available makeup air solutions.

What to do if my GE Ventilation Hood fan keeps going off and on?

      Rebecca StewartAug 3, 2025
If your GE Ventilation Hood fan keeps cycling on and off, it's likely that the motor is overheating and shutting down as a protective measure. To address this, start by ensuring that the filters are clean. If the on-and-off cycling continues even after cleaning the filters, it is recommended to call for service to prevent potential damage to the motor.

      James CollierAug 7, 2025
If the fan or light on your GE Ventilation Hood does not operate when the button is turned ON, it's possible that a house fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped. To resolve this, replace the blown fuse or reset the tripped circuit breaker.

      rjonesAug 13, 2025
If you are experiencing early light failure in your GE Ventilation Hood, it is likely due to the light wattage being too high. To fix this, replace the current bulb with one of the correct wattage.

Why is my GE UVW9361 Ventilation Hood making loud noises?
    • E
      edward03Aug 18, 2025
Loud or abnormal airflow noise in your GE Ventilation Hood can often be attributed to using the wrong duct size during installation. For optimal performance, this hood requires 8” ducting. Using smaller duct pipe will reduce venting efficiency. Minimize the duct run length and number of transitions and elbows. Note that GE Appliances service technicians cannot correct this issue if the hood was installed improperly.
