What to do if the bowl speed drops during operation in GEA OTC 3-02-137 Water Filtration Systems?
If the bowl speed drops during operation, check the motor and line voltage, as the motor speed may be dropping.
Why is my GEA Water Filtration Systems centrifuge running unevenly?
An uneven run of the centrifuge may occur because the separated solids have deposited unevenly in the bowl, the bowl is not correctly assembled, or bowl parts are damaged. In such cases, shut down the separator and close the feed and discharge lines. Also, worn ball bearings can cause this issue, so replace any damaged bearings, using only the ball bearings specified in the parts list.
How to fix slow bowl speed in GEA OTC 3-02-137?
If the bowl does not come up to rated speed or takes too long, it might be due to several reasons. Product may have dripped down the spindle onto the drive belt, in which case you should clean the drive belts and belt contact surfaces of the spindle and flat belt pulley, and replace the drive belt if needed. Another reason might be that the motor is incorrectly connected, so check the connection. Also, the drive belt may have stretched and is slipping on the bowl spindle, so replace the drive belt. The drive belt may not have been fitted correctly, so check its position on the flat belt pulley and spindle. Finally, solids may have collected in the hood and are braking the bowl, so clean the separator.
