Why left side doesn’t drive in either direction on Gehl Front End Loaders?
    • W
      William EllisSep 13, 2025
If the left side of your Gehl Front End Loader doesn't drive in either direction while the right side operates normally, it could be due to a loose rear hydrostatic pump arm control lever, malfunctioning relief valves on the rear hydrostatic pump, or a disconnected control rod linkage to the rear hydrostatic pump. Tighten the rear hydrostatic pump arm control lever. Attach control rod linkage.

What to do if auxiliary hydraulics do not function on Gehl Front End Loaders?
    • J
      Jonathan SpencerAug 22, 2025
If the auxiliary hydraulics on your Gehl Front End Loader do not function, it could be because the restraint bar is raised, the spool lock solenoid is malfunctioning, the restraint bar or seat switch is malfunctioning, the load sense signal line is loose or broken, the load sense compensator is not functioning, or the high pressure compensator on the pump is not functioning. Lower the restraint bar. Check the electrical connections to the lock solenoid and repair connections as needed. Check the load sense signal line; tighten or replace if necessary.

Why does my Gehl Front End Loader engine overheat?
    • R
      Robin BarnesAug 27, 2025
Your Gehl Front End Loader engine may overheat due to several reasons: the crankcase oil level could be too low or too high, the fan air circulation might be blocked or restricted, the fan shroud might be improperly positioned, the grade of oil might be improper or excessively dirty, the exhaust could be restricted, the air filter could be restricted, the coolant level could be low, or the fan belt could be loose. To address this, add or remove oil as required. With the engine OFF, remove any blockage or restriction to the fan. Drain and replace the oil with the proper grade of new oil. Allow the exhaust to cool, then remove any restriction. Replace the air filter(s). Add coolant. Tighten the fan belt.

Why are no instrument panel lamps on when the keyswitch is turned to “ON” on my Gehl Front End Loader?
    • D
      deborah95Aug 29, 2025
If no instrument panel lamps illuminate when the keyswitch is turned to “ON” in your Gehl Front End Loader, it could be due to a tripped 20 ampere breaker or loose/corroded battery terminals or cables. Check the circuit and locate the trouble before resetting the breaker. Clean the battery terminals and cables and retighten them.

How to fix work lights not functioning properly on Gehl Front End Loaders?
    • K
      khanjenniferAug 31, 2025
If the work lights on your Gehl Front End Loader aren't functioning properly, it could be due to several reasons: If a single light doesn’t work, the light bulb might be burned out or there could be faulty wiring. If no lights work at all, a 20 ampere breaker might be tripped, or there could be a faulty light switch or poor ground. Check and replace the light bulb as needed. Check the wiring connection to the light. Check the circuit and locate the trouble before replacing the fuse. Replace the light switch. Check the ground wire connections.

Why is the hydrostatic drive system noisy in my Gehl Front End Loader?
    • L
      Laurie OliverSep 1, 2025
A noisy hydrostatic (drive) system in your Gehl Front End Loader can be attributed to a few potential issues: the hydraulic oil viscosity might be too heavy, there could be air in the hydraulic system, or the drive motor(s) or hydrostatic pump(s) might have internal damage or leakage. Allow longer warm-up or replace existing oil with the proper viscosity oil. Cycle lift and tilt cylinders to maximum stroke and maintain pressure for a short time to clear air from system. Also check for low oil level in reservoir, fill as needed.

What to do if the starter won't engage on my Gehl Front End Loaders?
    • S
      Sherry JimenezNov 27, 2025
If the starter on your Gehl Front End Loader doesn't engage when the key is turned to START, the seat or restraint bar switch might be malfunctioning or not activated, there could be poor connections to the starter relay in the instrument panel, the battery terminals or cables might be loose or corroded, the starter relay in the instrument panel could be faulty, the battery could be discharged or defective, the starter solenoid might not be functioning, the ignition wiring, seat switch, restraint bar switch, etc. might be loose or disconnected, or the starter or pinion could be faulty. Verify relay connections. Clean the terminals, cables and retighten. Recharge or replace the battery. Check wiring for poor connections, broken leads; repair wiring or connection. Remove starter; repair/repl...

Why lift, tilt, and drive lock solenoids do not work on Gehl Front End Loaders?
    • T
      Toni CruzSep 12, 2025
The lift/tilt and/or drive lock solenoids on your Gehl Front End Loader may not work due to disconnected or faulty wiring to the solenoids, a restraint bar or seat switch malfunction, a faulty solenoid valve coil, or a faulty hydraulic solenoid relay in the instrument panel. Troubleshoot circuit, repair.
