Why won't my Generac Power Systems 005845-0 XG7000E engine start or why does it run rough?

If your Generac Power Systems Portable Generator engine won't start or runs rough, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure the fuel shut-off is turned ON. Check the air cleaner and replace or clean it if it's dirty. Make sure the fuel tank has gasoline, and if the gasoline is stale, drain the tank and fill it with fresh fuel. Ensure the spark plug wire is connected to the spark plug, and replace the spark plug if it's bad. Drain the fuel tank and fill with fresh fuel if there is water in the gasoline. If the engine is over-choking, put the choke knob to the No Choke position. Also, check the oil level and fill the crankcase to the proper level if it's low.
