This document is a Quick Reference Guide for Genmega ATM Owners, providing essential information for the setup, operation, and maintenance of Genmega Automatic Teller Machines. It covers various models, including lobby, stand-up, and through-the-wall ATMs.
Function Description:
The Genmega ATM is designed for financial transactions, primarily cash dispensing. It allows users to perform transactions and provides owners with tools for management, reporting, and maintenance. The ATM operates with specific software versions that interface with different transaction processors or 'Hosts'. Owners can access an Operator Menu to manage various functions, including adding cash, running reports, and diagnostics.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Power Requirements: All Genmega ATM models require a standard 120VAC grounded wall outlet. They do not require 'hard wiring' or special electrical service.
- Power Consumption:
- Idle: 25 watts
- Printing or Dispensing Cash: 145-155 watts
- Recommended Operating Temperatures: 40°F ~ 95°F (5°C ~ 35°C)
- Recommended Storage Temperatures: 32°F ~ 123°F (0°C ~ 49°C)
- Humidity: 15% < RH < 85% non-condensing
- Security Lock: Standard S&G Electronic lock on the vault, powered by a 9-volt battery. Default combination is 1-2-3-4-5-6-#.
- Receipt Paper: Requires 21lb thickness receipt paper.
Usage Features:
- Opening the ATM:
- Lobby/Stand-up Models: The top housing is opened with a key inserted into a lock behind the top of the ATM. A second lock on the lower section covers the safe door lock, also opened with the same key.
- Through-the-Wall Models: A cabinet lock on the rear side provides access to internal components and the Rear Service Panel.
- Opening the Vault Lock: The S&G Electronic lock is opened by entering the default combination (1-2-3-4-5-6-#) followed by the '#' sign. A double-beep confirms correct entry, and the internal lock solenoid clicks, allowing the T-Handle to open the door. Incorrect entries result in a triple-beep and a 10-minute "lock out" after two consecutive attempts.
- Changing the Vault Combination: With the vault door open, the combination can be changed by pressing 2-2-* (existing combination) # - (new combination) # - (new combination) #. It is crucial to test the new combination thoroughly before closing the vault.
- Software Boot Menu: Upon initial power-on, a 'Boot Menu' may appear, offering selections for different software types (e.g., Standard ATM AP, PAI ATM Advantage, ATM PLUS). The chosen software should match the transaction processor. If a wrong selection is made, the ATM can be reset to the Boot Menu within approximately 12 hours via the 'Clear NVRAM Menu' in the Operator Menu.
- Accessing the Operator Menu:
- From the 'Welcome' screen: Press [ENTER] - [CLEAR] – [CANCEL] – [1] – [2] – [3] on the ATM keypad in sequence.
- From an 'Out of Service' screen with [DEV INI] and [OP] buttons: Press the 'OP' button.
- From an 'Out of Service' screen without [DEV INI] and [OP] buttons: Use the [ENTER] - [CLEAR] – [CANCEL] – [1] – [2] – [3] sequence.
- Operator Menu Password: The default Master Password is 555555. All passwords for this menu are 6 characters. Different password levels (Master, Service, Operator) grant access to varying functions.

Maintenance Features:
- Battery Replacement (Vault Lock): The 9-volt battery for the S&G Electronic lock is installed from the bottom of the lock. It is recommended to use a fresh, name-brand battery if lock opening issues occur.
- Clearing NVRAM: The 'Clear NVRAM Menu' allows for clearing journal entries, settings, or performing a factory reset to return to the application boot screen. This is useful for correcting software selection mistakes.
- Electronic Journal Management:
- PRINT JOURNAL: Prints a list of all journal entries since the last print.
- VIEW JOURNAL: Allows viewing specific journal records, with options to navigate by 50 or 500 records. Selected records can be printed.
- COPY JNL/SETUP TO SD/USB: Copies journal contents and records to an external memory device (USB drive or SD Card) for backup. A Windows Desktop PC utility is available for managing, sorting, and printing these records.
- Emptying Reject Bin: The Reject Bin is located directly above the cassette. Notes found here should be removed, inspected, and recorded for balancing the machine.
- Clearing Paper Jams: If a paper jam occurs, press the green lever on the printer to open the rollers and remove jammed paper. Never use metal or sharp tools. Press the lever back up to close the rollers.
- Environmental Protection: Lobby and wall-mount ATMs are not weatherized and must be used indoors or in a completely protected enclosure. Through-the-wall models are weatherized but require protection from direct rainfall or water with an awning or enclosure. Heaters should be used in freezing temperatures to maintain internal temperature above freezing.
