Overview

This document outlines the installation, usage, and maintenance for the Gessi Inciso Bath Mixing Program, specifically for models Art. 58088 and Art. 58089.

Function Description

The Gessi Inciso Bath Mixing Program provides a complete set of components for a bath mixer, including a control handle and a supply spout. It is designed to mix hot and cold water to achieve a desired temperature for bath use. The system allows for precise control over water temperature and flow, ensuring a comfortable and safe bathing experience. The design integrates seamlessly into modern bathroom aesthetics, offering both functionality and style.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual emphasizes several critical technical specifications to ensure proper and safe operation:

Pressure Requirements:

  • Working Pressure: Must not be lower than 0.5 bar (7.25 psi) and not higher than 5 bar (72 Psi). If the working pressure exceeds 5 bar, a pressure reducer valve is required.
  • Maximum Test Installation Pressure: 8 bar (116 psi).
  • Pressure Differences: Significant pressure differences between hot and cold water supplies should be avoided. Such differences, along with high mineral content water and soapy substances, can corrode internal and external parts of hoses, leading to material weakening and leakage.

Temperature Requirements:

  • Maximum Working Temperature: 70°C (158 °F). Exceeding this temperature can cause damage, ruptures, leakages, or product breakage, posing a safety and health hazard.

General Installation Guidelines:

  • The product should only be used for its intended purpose and never as a tool or hammer.
  • Installation and testing must be performed by a professional plumber.
  • Refer to the local plumbing code for specific installation requirements.
  • Electric cables must never be attached to the product due to potential health and safety hazards.
  • Heavy objects should not be placed on or dropped onto the product to prevent damage, splinters, and safety risks.
  • The instruction manual must be read carefully, and all installation procedures must be followed precisely.
  • Avoid excessive force during installation to prevent damage to the product or its components. Never force components or screws.
  • Aluminum fittings should not be used for water connections.

Usage Features

The Gessi Inciso Bath Mixing Program is designed for intuitive operation, allowing users to easily control water temperature and flow.

Temperature Control (Fig. 10):

  • The control handle can be rotated to adjust the water temperature.
  • Moving the handle towards "HOT" increases the hot water flow.
  • Moving the handle towards "COLD" increases the cold water flow.
  • The "MIX" position indicates a balanced mix of hot and cold water.

Flow Control (Fig. 11):

  • The control handle can be moved up or down to turn the water flow "ON" or "OFF."
  • Lifting the handle turns the water "ON."
  • Pushing the handle down turns the water "OFF."

Pre-Installation Flushing:

  • Before installation, the feeding pipes must be thoroughly rinsed to remove any shavings, welding residue, hemp, or other dirt. This prevents foreign bodies from entering the mixer and damaging internal components like washers and O-rings.
  • The warranty does not cover issues arising from unfiltered water or failure to install filter taps in the main water system or before the faucet's supply hoses.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the Gessi Inciso Bath Mixing Program.

General Maintenance:

  • Should any components need replacement, contact an authorized retailer or visit WWW.GESSI.COM.
  • All product maintenance must be performed by qualified staff.

  • Step 4 (Fig. 15): The diagram shows the orientation of the cartridge (X) for proper installation.
  • Step 5 (Fig. 16): Reassemble the components in reverse order, ensuring correct orientation and tightening all screws appropriately. Pay attention to the specific cartridge type.

Aerator Cleaning / Replacing (Figs. 17-19):

  • Step 1 (Fig. 17): Unscrew the aerator from the spout.
  • Step 2 (Fig. 18): Remove the aerator and its gasket.
  • Step 3 (Fig. 19): Clean the aerator to remove any debris or mineral buildup. If necessary, replace it with a new one. Reinstall the aerator and gasket, ensuring a tight fit.
