Battery
Battery life varies based on environment, usage and maintenance. They do not require
fluid checks or additional fluids to maintain. To maximize battery lifetime and prevent
premature diminishment, operate at medium speeds with gentle acceleration, store at
50% to 100% charge capacity, and recharge the battery every 4-6 weeks. Failure to
recharge regularly can result in premature end of life of your battery, and you will need
to replace it. Do not mix old and new or different brands or types of batteries.
The recommended temperature for the battery is between 0 and 35°C. Battery capacity
is based on the ambient temperature of 25°C, the battery capacity will decrease below
15° by 20-30%. Temperatures below -10°C may result in permanent damage to the
battery. Keep the battery away from fire, heat, direct sunlight and caustic substances.
Do not break or damage the battery. The battery acid contained inside is highly
corrosive, flammable and may cause severe injuries or explosion. If this should occur,
rinse with plenty of water and call emergency services immediately.
Your Supra, its batteries and charger are specifically designed for each other, and are
not interchangeable with other models of scooters. There are many chargers in the
market that look similar, use of any other chargers may result in serious damage to all
components. The polarity, as well as the input and output voltages of the charger
supplied with your scooter is of the correct rating and type for your scooter. This
information should be located on a label on the bottom of the charger.
Regularly inspect your batteries, charger, charging port for any signs of damage,
leaking, dirt, corrosion, smoke, odor, etc. In the event of any abnormalities upon
inspection or during use, stop using the scooter and contact your dealer or GIO Electric
Customer Service for more information. All batteries are sealed and SHOULD NOT be
taken apart without proper knowledge. Battery acid is poisonous and dangerous, it
contains sulfuric acid and leads to dangerous burns. Avoid skin, eye and clothing
contact. Protect your eyes always when working near the battery. Upon contact with the
battery acid, immediately perform FIRST AID. or skin/eye contact rinse the affected
areas with plenty of water. When accidentally swallowed battery acid drink large
amounts of water. In both cases, seek immediate medical attention.
Always dispose of old batteries through an approved battery recycler, and
keep children and pets away from batteries.
Storage
When storing your scooter for extended periods such as during winter, we suggest
switching your breaker to the off position and storing inside a temperature and humidity
controlled space. If removing and storing batteries, do not store batteries in a sealed
container.
