  If your Glacier Bay Garbage Disposal doesn't start, there might be a jam. First, unplug the power cord or switch off the wall switch or breaker. Then, remove the stopper and splash guard. Check if the turntable can rotate freely using a wooden broom handle. If it does, replace the splash guard and check the reset button to see if it's tripped. The reset button is red and located on the front of the disposal. Push it in until it clicks and stays depressed. If the reset button hasn't tripped, check for shorted or broken wires. Also, check the electrical power switch, fuse box, or circuit breaker. If wiring and electrical components are intact, the unit may have internal problems that require service or replacement.

  Loud noises from your Glacier Bay Garbage Disposal (besides the normal grinding sounds) are usually caused by a foreign object, like a spoon or bottle cap, that accidentally fell inside. To fix this, turn off the electrical switch and water supply. Once the disposal has completely stopped, remove the splash guard. Use long-handled tongs to carefully remove the object. After removing the object, replace the splash guard.

Turn off the disposal and check for any foreign object stuck between the turntable and the grind ring. Try to dislodge the object by rotating the table with a wooden broom handle and then remove the object. If you don't find any foreign objects, the disposal may have internal problems.
