Caution! During and shortly after use, the
motor area (highlighted) will be hot to touch!
WARNING! Extreme caution should be used when attempting to touch any part of the motor after it
has been in operation—the same caution you would use in the kitchen with hot pots or pans or
boiling water. We recommend that you do not attempt to touch the motor unless it has been
switched off for at least five minutes.
The motor and controller are automatically protected against over-temperature operation. If the
temperature of the motor or the controller gets too high, the power will be gradually reduced to
prevent damage to these components. You may experience this condition for example riding up long
steep hills while using full motor assistance. When over-temperature protection is in effect, the power
available to the motor will be reduced. When the temperature of the motor and/or controller has
cooled adequately, the full power will again be available.
