Overview

The GoWISE USA Electric Air Fryer is a kitchen appliance designed for household use, enabling users to fry, bake, grill, and roast food with little to no oil. It utilizes rapid air circulation technology to cook ingredients, offering a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. The device is available in multiple models: GW22932, GW22933, and GW22961, which appear to be variations in color (teal, red, and black, respectively) as shown on the cover.

Function Description:

The primary function of the GoWISE USA Electric Air Fryer is to cook food using hot air, mimicking the results of frying with significantly less oil. This process is achieved through a heating element and a fan that circulates hot air rapidly around the food in the fry basket. The appliance features a digital control display that allows users to set and adjust cooking time and temperature. It includes a crisper tray within the fry basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness. The air fryer is designed for versatility, capable of handling a wide range of ingredients from frozen fries and homemade potato wedges to steaks, chicken, fish, and even baked goods like cakes and muffins.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 120V
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Watts: 1200W
  • Capacity: 3.7 Quarts (Qt)
  • Temperature Range: 170°F-400°F (76.7°C-204.4°C)
  • Model Numbers: GW22932, GW22933, GW22961
  • Control Display: Digital screen with touch-sensitive buttons for power, temperature adjustment (+/-), and time adjustment (+/-).
  • Safety Features: Polarized plug to prevent electric shock, automatic power-down when the basket is removed, and a fan that continues to run for approximately 20 seconds after cooking to cool down the unit.

Usage Features:

  1. Setup: Before first use, all packaging materials, stickers, and labels must be removed. The basket and crisper tray should be cleaned with hot water and soap, and the inside and outside of the appliance wiped with a clean cloth. A burn-off cycle (setting the unit to 350°F for 5 minutes) is recommended to eliminate any manufacturing residue smell.
  2. Operation:
    • Place the air fryer on a flat, even, stable, and non-heat-resistant surface.
    • Insert the crisper tray into the fry basket.
    • Place ingredients into the basket, ensuring not to overfill and avoiding oil or other liquids in the basket itself.
    • Slide the basket back into the appliance.
    • Press the POWER/START button, then use the +/- buttons to set the desired cooking time and temperature.
    • Press POWER/START again to begin cooking. The HEAT/FAN icon will blink to indicate heating and air circulation.
    • Shaking Ingredients: For even cooking, especially with smaller ingredients like fries, it's often necessary to shake the basket midway through the cooking cycle. The air fryer will automatically pause when the basket is removed and resume when it's reinserted. For heavy ingredients, holding the bottom of the basket with an oven mitt is advised for support.
    • Completion: The timer will beep five times when cooking is complete, and the fan will run for about 20 seconds before stopping.
    • Ingredient Removal: Carefully slide the basket out and place it on a pot holder. Use silicone-tipped, non-abrasive tongs to remove ingredients to avoid scratching the non-stick coating.
    • Power Off: To completely turn off the fryer, it must be unplugged from the wall socket.
  3. Cooking Guide: The manual provides a detailed cooking chart with recommended times and temperatures for various foods, including potatoes & fries, meat & poultry, snacks, and baking items. It also offers tips such as adding a small amount of oil for crispier results, not preparing extremely oily ingredients, and using a baking pan for certain items.
  4. Internal Temperature Chart: An internal temperature chart is included for cooked meats, emphasizing the importance of reviewing USDA Food Safety Standards.
  5. Tips for Best Results:
    • Smaller ingredients cook faster.
    • Shaking ingredients ensures even cooking.
    • A little oil can enhance crispiness for fresh potatoes.
    • Avoid extremely oily or greasy ingredients.
    • Oven-ready snacks can be prepared in the air fryer.
    • The recommended amount of fries for crispiness is 17.5 oz.
    • Pre-made dough requires shorter cooking times.
    • Use a baking tin or oven dish for cakes, quiches, or items with filling.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Cleaning:
    • The air fryer should be cleaned after every use.
    • Always unplug and allow the fryer to cool completely (at least 30 minutes) before handling or cleaning.
    • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
    • Wash the basket and crisper tray with hot water, soap, and a non-abrasive sponge. For stuck-on food, use a degreasing liquid soap or soak the parts in hot water.
    • Clean the interior with a lightly dampened non-abrasive sponge or cloth, being careful not to get it too wet and never submerging the appliance in water.
    • Scrub the heating element with a cleaning brush to remove food debris.
  2. Parts Replacement: The basket and crisper tray are subject to normal wear and tear and may need replacement over time. GoWISE USA Customer Care can be contacted for purchasing these parts.

The manual emphasizes numerous safety precautions, including:

  • Reading the entire manual before operation.
  • Not placing the appliance on stovetop surfaces or near combustible materials.
