  White smoke may appear when prepping greasy ingredients. When frying greasy ingredients, a large amount of oil will leak into the basket. The oil produces white smoke, and the basket may heat up more than usual. This does not affect the appliance or end food result. Also, make sure you clean the air fryer properly after each use, as the basket may still be greasy.
