!Usethisbasicliftingtechniqueforsmallobjectswhenyoucanstraddletheloadandusea
widestance.
1.Getasclosetotheobjectaspossible.
2.Useawidestancewithonefootforwardandtothesideoftheobjectforgoodbalance.
3.Keepyourbackstraight,pushyourbuttocksout.Useyourlegsandhipstoloweryourself
downtotheobject.
4.Movetheobjectasclosetoyouaspossible.
5.Putyourhand(samesideofyourbodyastheforwardfoot)onthesideoftheobjectfarthest
fromyou.
6.WhenliftingtheloadholdingtheNemoGRABO®withonehand,securetheloadwithyour
otherhand.
7.Prepareforlifting,tightenyourcoremuscles,lookforwardandupward,andmaintaina
straightandstrongback.
!Donotholdyourbreathwhilelifting.Donotbendortwistyourwaist.Donotuseapartial
grip(1-2fingers).Donotobstructyourvisionwhencarrying.Donotjerkorliftquickly.Do
notpinchyourfingersortoes.
8.Liftslowlyandfollowwithyourheadandshoulders.Holdtheloadclosetoyourbody.Lift
byextendingyourlegswithyourbackstraight,andbreatheoutasyoulift.Pivotyourfeetto
avoidtwisting.
