This document describes the GRAM IO 5610-90 X, IO 5610-90 B, and IO 5610-90 W oven models, providing an instruction manual for their use, installation, and maintenance.
Function Description
The GRAM oven is designed for household cooking, offering a variety of heating functions to accommodate different culinary needs. It features a temperature control knob and an oven function selection knob for precise operation.
The available oven functions include:
- Oven Off (0): Turns off all oven operations.
- Rapid Preheating (222): Activates the ring heater and roaster for quick preheating of the oven.
- Defrosting: Uses only the fan, with all heaters off, to gently defrost food.
- Fan and Combined Grill On: Engages both the combined grill and the fan. This function speeds up grilling and enhances the taste of dishes. The oven door should remain shut during this operation.
- Enhanced Roaster (Super Roaster): Activates both the roaster and the top heater, increasing the temperature in the upper part of the oven. This is ideal for browning and roasting larger portions of food.
- Roaster On: Designed for cooking small portions of meat such as steaks, schnitzel, fish, toasts, and Frankfurter sausages. The thickness of roasted dishes should not exceed 2-3 cm, and food should be turned over during roasting.
- Bottom Heater On: Heats the oven using only the bottom heater, suitable for baking cakes from the bottom until done, especially moist cakes with fruit stuffing.
- Top and Bottom Heaters On: This is the conventional setting for baking, ideal for cakes, meat, fish, bread, and pizza on one oven level. Preheating the oven and using a baking tray are recommended.
- Convection with Ring Heating Element: Heats the oven using a heating element with forced air circulation from a rotating fan in the back wall. This allows for lower baking temperatures than conventional heating and ensures uniform heat distribution.
- Convection with Ring Heating Element and Bottom Heater On: Activates the convection fan and bottom heater, increasing the temperature at the bottom of the cooked dish. This provides intense heat from the bottom, suitable for moist cakes and pizza.
- Top Heater, Bottom Heater and Fan On: Most suitable for convection baking of cakes. If the temperature knob is set to zero with this function selected, only the fan will operate, allowing for cooling of the dish or oven chamber.
- Independent Oven Lighting: Illuminates the oven interior.
- Eco Fan Assisted Heating (ECO): An optimized heating function designed to save energy. The oven lighting is off in this mode. Preheating is not recommended, and the temperature setting should not be changed, nor the oven door opened during cooking.
The oven indicates operation with two signal lights: light 4 turns on when the oven is working, and light 3 goes out when the set temperature is reached. During baking, light 3 will cycle on and off to maintain temperature.
Important Technical Specifications
- Voltage Rating: 230V~50 Hz
- Power Rating: Max. 3.6 kW
- Oven Dimensions (H/W/D): 59.5 / 59.5 / 57.5 cm
- Electrical Connection: One-phase alternating current (230V 1N~50 Hz) with a 3 x 1.5 mm² connection lead and a protection contact plug.
- Energy Efficiency: The product meets European standards EN 60335-1 and EN60335-2-6. Energy label data is based on EN 60350-1 / IEC 60350-1, with standard workload 'a' and active functions including bottom and top heaters (conventional heating) and fan-assisted heating (forced air heating). The energy efficiency class is assigned based on the available functions, prioritizing Forced air circulation ECO (ring heater + fan), then Forced air circulation ECO (bottom heater + top + roaster + fan), and finally Conventional mode ECO (bottom heater + top).
Usage Features
- First Use: Before initial use, remove all packaging, clean the oven interior and fittings with warm water and washing-up liquid, ensure proper ventilation, and heat the oven to 250°C for approximately 30 minutes to remove any manufacturing residues.
- Baking Recommendations: Use provided baking trays or black cake tins for better heat conduction. Avoid bright or shiny surfaces with conventional heating. Preheating is generally required, except for the ultra-fan function. Check doneness with a wooden stick. Leave cakes in the oven for 5 minutes after switching off. Ultra-fan baking temperatures are typically 20-30 degrees lower than conventional.
- Roasting Meat: Cook meat over 1 kg in the oven. Use heatproof ovenware. When roasting on a drying rack or grate, place a baking tray with water on the lowest level to catch drips. Turn meat at least once and baste with juices or hot salty water (avoid cold water).
- Grilling: Set the oven knob to the grill position, preheat for approximately 5 minutes (with the door shut), insert the dish, and place a drip tray on the level below if using a grate. Close the oven door. For grill and combined grill functions, set temperature to 250°C. For fan and grill, set to a maximum of 190°C. Keep children away as accessible parts become hot.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: The oven should be cleaned after every use once it has completely cooled down and is switched off. Use warm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers on the oven door glass.
- SteamCleaning Function: Pour 250ml of water into a bowl on the first level, close the door, set the temperature knob to 50°C, and the function knob to the bottom heater position. Heat for 30 minutes, then wipe the chamber with a cloth or sponge and wash with warm water and washing-up liquid. Wipe dry.
- Wire Shelf Supports: These are easy to remove for washing. Pull the front catch, tilt, and remove from the rear catch.
- Telescopic Runners: These should be taken out and washed with the side racks. Do not wash in a dishwasher. Ensure they are pulled out before placing trays and correctly reinserted.
- Halogen Bulb Replacement: Disconnect the appliance from the mains. Remove shelves and trays. Unscrew and wash the lamp cover. Pull out the old 230V 25W halogen bulb with a cloth or paper, replace it, and screw the cover back on.
- Door Removal: To clean the oven chamber, the door can be removed. Tilt the safety catch of the hinge upwards, close the door lightly, lift, and pull it out. To refit, reverse the process, ensuring the hinge notch is correctly placed and the safety catch is lowered.
- Inner Panel Removal: Using a flat screwdriver, unhook the upper door slat, then pull it loose. Pull the inner glass panel from its seat. Clean with warm water and cleaning agent. Reassemble in reverse, ensuring the smooth surface faces upwards. When fitting the top door strip, insert the left end first, then press the right end until it clicks, then press the left end until it clicks.
- Regular Inspections: Periodically inspect control elements and cooking units. After the guarantee expires, a technical inspection by a service centre is recommended every two years. Fix any operational faults and perform periodical maintenance.
- Troubleshooting: In case of emergency, switch off all units, disconnect the mains plug, and call the service centre. Minor faults like the appliance not working (check fuse box) or oven lighting not working (tighten/replace bulb) can be addressed by referring to the provided table.
